Yesterday afternoon about 3 minutes before the end of legal time i took a shot at a 8 pointer at 12 yrds,, it was from a low treestand maybe 7' up and the shot was over and down into scrub oak brush that i did clear a few lanes.
The shot, the anchor everything felt good on my end, at impact i heard what sounded like a small
Stick break i didnt hear that distinct thump.. the deer jumped a few times and stopped maybe 30 feet from shot and just looked all around for 5 minutes,, it then started snorting, jumping away some more then snorting and this went on for 10 minutes as the buck moved further away..
The broadhead was a magnas MA1 2 blade....the fletching was a bad choice the leaf green and i couldnt see it!!
Okay so i think it was a defection or miss,, ive had 2bladed hit deer snort once then bed down, just take off then fall but with all the snorting going on i dont think it was a hit..
Couldn't find arrow and blood but only had a junk head lamp. Going back this afternoon to find arrow then go from there.
Good luck finding your arrow! It sounds like a miss but you never know til you know.

Possibly a deflection and a hit missing the vitals. Hope you do find the arrow and/or blood.
Found the arrow it was a clean miss thank you lord... there was a small sapling right where i thought it was clear.
So you killed a stick :thumbsup:

I was very happy to see a trimmed off piece of scrub oak brush and clean miss.. i trimmed all that away and may go back this evening.
As far as pope n young for sticks,,, id have my fair share thats for sure :goldtooth:
