The ASTB Memorial Shoot honoring Russ Dickson and many other passed members is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday at Brierfield Park. We will have a special perpetual trophy and photo album, normal classes plus a pre-season warm-up Hunter Class. Church devotional service at 8:00 am on Sunday.
Great novelty shoot plus our aerial target thrower will be up and running. Looking forward to a great weekend to wrap up the season.
The shoot surpassed all of our expectations. The weather was wonderful and we had 124 registered shooters. The course as usual was great plus we had separate stakes for the Hunter class. Congratulations to all of the participants and winners.
The novelty shoots were super fun for all participants and spectators and the aerial target shooter has been a great addition. Dennis Finch and Ronnie Teculvie put on a clinic with Ronnie ultimately finishing
ahead with 9 of ten hits!
Tony and Myrna Jetton did a great job on the photo album on our Memorial honorees and the perpetual trophy was perfect.
Bubba Smith and family hosted a wonderful barbecue dinner for all, an event he has committed to for next September.
The best part of the weekend was the Memorial Devotional service by Bubba in the Brierfield church. It was both touching and inspiring.
We appreciate all of the suggestions from members during the year. It is a member's club!
Hope to see everyone at the shoot we co-host with the Bama Bowhunters club near Maplesville in October. A great location with unlimited free camping as well as a super fishing lake.
Thanks again to all for making The Memorial Shoot a great one.
