Evening everyone, I'm in the market for a new bow and would like a reflex deflex longbow. Between $500 and $800. I've been contemplating the Oberon from 3 Rivers, any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated!

Intrepid Longbows in Wisconsin. Using forms acquired from Dave Dwyer and making a great start in building bows. I've seen the bows in person and if I was in the market I would seriously consider one.
My current R/D longbow is a Bodkin Quick Stick. I've been shooting it for a couple of years now, suits me well— I won it in a drawing so much the sweeter.
Check out the Omega Royal Huntsman.
Kanati by Jason Kendall checks all the boxes. A used Toelke Whip or Whistler would be excellent.

All the D/R longbows I have experience with are no longer being made. Bowyers retired or passed away. My latest is a mild D/R Moosejaw Razorback that I recently acquired from Gary Sentman. Kanati, Bobnik, Elkheart, and others that are mentioned above are all great from what I've read. Also, if you come across a MOAB for sale do not hesitate. Try to shoot as many of the various bows you're interested in and make an educated selection.

64" Old Mountain Mesa from 3Rivers is a hard how to beat for the money. Sure it's built in South Korea but it will out perform most bows built and be smoother and a tack driver.
Yellowstone Custom bows
I'm no help. The bows I have that I really like are made by guys now retired.
But I would second Yellowstone bows. I had a couple years ago that were really nice.
Be good to yourself, up your price range by a couple of hundred dollars and look at Dan Toelke's D/R longbows!

Solid advice!
You guys are great! Thank you very much for all the advice!
Go to a trad archery show where you can look at and try different bows.

Check the pre-owned market. Some really good bows out there.
I would also suggest the used bow market, especially if you're not sure exactly what you like. If you stick with known bowyers and your specs are not extreme you can often buy a bow, try it and if it doesn't work for you resale it and just be out shipping cost.

Love my Toelke Whip - There is one on the classifieds over on the other site now.
I have bought at least four from Leon Stewart. He is a fine craftsman, and a straight-shooter in his business dealings.
I run into him at the Baltimore Bowmen Trad Classic in May, and fall victim to impulse buying because they are so pretty, and shoot so well. I forget exactly when I started shooting a Stewart, but here are pics from 2006.

Kanati has 25 or 30 deer for me.
Scott Mitchell at Timberhawk bows makes some outstanding RD longbows both TD and one piece.
How about Bivouac bows?

That renegade is calling to me. Beautiful bow.
