Title: 13” VPA and Uukha limbs?
Post by: Pathfinder1974! on July 15, 2025, 12:37:09 PM
So I'm in process of purchasing a VPA ILF riser and was planning on putting Uukha Maazlai Medium limbs on it. I'm not sure what poundage limbs to order. I want #45 draw but see the math doesn't work to convert it down to 13". My cheap Chinese ILF with carbon foam limbs says it should be #50 but it draws what it's marked at in #45. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this type of setup and if any advise could be given.

I owned a 13" vpa riser about a yr ago. I used an assortment of limbs on it of varying lengths and poundage. With the limb pad angle that vpa used on the 13" most limbs should pull as if the riser was a 17". I had medium uukha ex1 evos in 40# that pulled 48# on the vpa. Well made riser but I felt it was too light in the hand for me. Good luck to you!

I forgot to add that I believe the limbs you're thinking of are scaled on a 25" riser. If I'm right, 36# mediums will get you 44# at mid bolt setting on your 13" vpa riser. If ordering through lancaster, they will scale the limbs to make sure before shipping. Scratch that, I just looked them up and they're scaled on a 19" riser and in 5# increments. 40# will get you 42# mid setting and could maybe hit 44# bolts in.

I have a 13" VPA riser and Brokefarmer is exactly right. Because of the pad angle, it is the same weight as if on a 17" riser. I have a set of Nika 36 pound limbs on mine and with the bolts 2 turns out, they are 42#@28". Love the riser!

If you are shooting a 13" riser be aware you'll have a very short sight window and if you are a Gap shooter it's going to be a very crowded view. Personally I don't go below a 19" riser for this reason.
