Hey guys. I haven't been on in probably 20 years, but I was thinking this might be the best place to ask about something that's been on my mind lately.
Does anyone remember the old Jackson's archery page that existed back in the 90's when the internet was still new? It had a list of every trad bowyer with a website. I spent an awful lot of time looking through them when I decided to order my own bow with baling money when I was a teenager.
Unfortunately, we have lost a lot of trad bowyers over the years. But I know we have also gained a bunch. My problem is that I don't know all the new bowyers out there today, and I don't even know how to find out what all is out there.
So, does anyone know of a resource for finding all the information for people currently making trad bows? Many thanks in advance.
Try checking out the sponsor list. Lots of super talented bowyers.
Also, pick up a copy of Traditional Bowhunter. A lot of builders advertise in it.
Hang out here for awhile a lot of the main players will more than likely get mentioned.
I see where he is going with this,,, our list here is pretty impressive.. back when the internet was new even before that I used to write to every bowyer i ever found to collect their brochures (and drool over them) but I have hundreds of them most are long gone but you go back and look at the brochures and see the prices and pictures,,alot of bowyers back then sent real 35mm color pictures of their bows,,,, how about 350.00 for a new elburg cherokee mag! or 350.00 for a bamboo backed stillwater, i miss that part of it..
You can always ask who you Favorite bowyer, mine are Rich Wormington and Blake Smith Yellowstone Custom bows.
