Title: First two piece bow?
Post by: derekdiruz on June 25, 2025, 07:09:17 PM
I'm I'll be diving into two piece bows... and I have questions regarding material for a tenon/fiberglass sleeve system.

Is a 1/4" phenolic I beam, dead center, acceptable to allow using woods? I'm not going to use only wood, but I don't want to use only phenolic (and I don't touch g10).

What's your experience with durability?

Recently I saw a widow PL with a brass bolt or something in the tenon, it looks to be there to keep the Osage on the back side of the tenon from wearing against the fiberglass and compressing. Necessary in normal weight bows up to 55 ish? (This widow was 72@28)

Whatever you use keep it to the sight window side. Am thinking you can get 1/8 fiberglass for I-beam X2
