Well i finally got my boat project pretty much wrapped up. It's a never ending thing owning an old boat really...
BUT....I'm back in the shop and have your riser material on the bench. I need a choice for a leopard spotted riser or a wilder looking grain swirl look. Please let me know ASAP i want to get this baby going now.
WOW!!! either one of those is going to make a beautiful bow!!! I know which one I would choose, curious if Terry will pick the one I like. Can't wait for this to get going to watch it come to life!!! :coffee: :campfire: :coffee: :campfire:

Left one all the way 👍🏽
Left one!
Well I'm still waiting on Terry for his choice, so no progress yet besides milling lams for the limbs..... I think I'll go salmon fishing for a couple days. They are catching some beautiful Spring Chinook right now in the Willamette river in Portland, and fishing weekends are crowded. I'd rather work weekends and fish during the week while everyone else is working...

Sounds like a great plan!! One of the benefits of being self employed, good luck.

Sorry, my father in law had issues last week and died on Thursday and we buried him yesterday.
LEFT!
I'm sorry for your loss Terry....... I'll roll up my sleeves and get this baby going now.
Kirk
Dang Terry! You can't catch a break lately. Sorry for your loss. Maybe this build along will help brighten your outlook! Looks like it's going to be a looker!
Yeah, its been a little ruff lately. They called in Hospice for his home, and although he could barely walk, he could not stand. I had to help lift him our of his recliner and off the toilet as his wife was just not strong enough. I also took him outside daily so he could enjoy the birds and squirrels at least once a day. Luckily I live only a mile and a half away. So thanks guys.
Looking forward to it Kirk! :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:
I did Hospice work for both of my parents, neither lasted long in Hospice but it was very humbling work. It makes you think about everything that they did for you from birth until you could take care of yourself; and they never asked for a thing.
That bow is going to be sharp. :shaka:
I'll be following along on this one!
WOW! Is that black and white ebony?
I will be following this thread also. :campfire:
The assembly video of the Blind Sasquatch. Thought it would be good to post this on this thread also....

Yes sir... I only have enough left to build 3 risers now, and Terry's is one of them. The stuff is unfortunately terribly expensive anymore, and very difficult to find.

I've got the riser milled and the limb pad overlay complete, and I'm working on milling the blind limb bolt assembly now... Here are a few pictures to tide you over.

Here is the riser all ready for the blind limb mounts.Well except the belly ramp caps... I always wait until i have the limbs mounted and check the draw weight before installing the belly ramp caps, and then shape the riser grip and do the shelf cut out.
You can see by the photos below the T Nuts used that are embedded in the limb butts and fixed with epoxy. The two location pins keep the limbs aligned perfectly and the T-nuts are adjusted to the limbs after they are mounted on the riser, then covered with overlays.

Yes! FABULOUS!!!
The grain in that wood is stunning. I Can't wait to see the finished product!
I've got some limbs going here.... Bamboo and maple cores with stable core under the glass back.
The wedge material is a vertical grain, high density laminated birch called Chromaply.
