Just returned some days ago after a trip to Namibia, with Makalaan safaris, four in a row.
This year hunt has been different as rains were abundants, very strange in Namibia. With so many rains, food was everywhere and many animals don't need to drink as much.
Anyway, after some days without too much action, i was able to shoot a nice warthog

Arrow placement was good and tracking job easy, less than 100 meters the animal was dead. Was a nice warthog with a big body
In four years without seeing one, i was lucky enough to have an opportunity in a great eland bull, good shoot, more than enough penetration and down in seconds, less than 50 meters!! Crazy when you hear a so big animal fell down !! And crazy the work to move and skin one animal of 800 kg or 1700

My bow and arrow setup was the same for the two animals, Border Covert Hunter,48# and Legacy arrows, around 560 grains. Broadhead is an Australian made, Gladius three blade from Terra Firma. Very nice head, accurate and sharp after the kills.
English is not my native language, apologies !
We are experiencing the same conditions in South Africa
