Title: 1959 Bear Alaskan question
Post by: Sgtrock621 on May 13, 2025, 08:55:23 PM
I had a question about a 1959 Bear Alaskan, Most Bear Alaskans have dual arrow rests for right or left hand shooters, but I found one that is 45# and it has only a right hand shooting shelf. Does anyone have any experience with this ? I was thinking that maybe that the hunting weight bows came with a single side shelf, whereas lighter weight bows had dual shelves, possibly for collegiate target purposes. would this make this a rarer variation? any help in this matter would be appreciated, Thank you

The 1959 and 60 alaskans had dual shelfs. The only reason was to market the bow as an all purpose bow to replace the cub model.

I knew that most of them did have dual shelves, but I now own a 1959 Alaskan that is only righthanded, so that is why I was asking the question I did not know if anyone else had seen this before?

Thanks Dan

So, what makes you think it is a 1959 bow. I'm guessing it a 1969.
