Title: Rick Welch's bows/feedback, opinions?
Post by: koger on May 24, 2008, 02:16:00 AM
I have watched a couple of his videos, heard great things about his bows, was wondering if any of you remembered what his web address was. Was thinking about ordering one of his bows, any feedback appreciated!

Hi Samuel, I've got one of Ricks bows.  The new ones are much prettier than the ones he used in those videos.  I really like the bow.  I've got two sets of limbs for it.  I think he has a great limb design.  I've watched my other bows being shot in slow motion with a video camera.  After the shot, you can visibly see the limbs flopping around, but not with Ricks bow.  The limbs just stop dead.  Probably why they have so little hand shock.  I will say that lots of bowyers make fancier looking bows, but Ricks bows are great, and hard to beat for the price.

I got a dakota recurve. I bought it used on tradgang and I like it just fine. Rick is making me another and should be done in a couple of weeks. Nothing bad to say about the ones ive shot. DB

I got him to send me one to try about a year ago and it was the same poundage as a black widow SA that I had, but it wasn't even close to being as smooth.  It was, however, the quietest recurve that I've shot and plenty fast.  I liked it overall.
