Im shooting A Bob lee take-down recurve 52#@28"and I just bought some Beman ICS 400 carbons that weigh in at roughly 270 grains w/o a point. Im wondering if I should use weight tubes to boost up overall weight and use a lighter point(125-150 grains) or if I should bump the point weight up to 200+ grains to achieve the overall weight needed for penetration. Im trying for somwhwere between 9.5 to 10 grains per pound. Does anybody have suggestions?
Unless you are drawing 32" you will need 200+ up front to get them to spine correctly.

Richard: I would get some 200 grain field points and see what happens. If you haven't cut the shafts yet start out with a longer shaft and trim a little from the nock end until your getting good bare shaft results. My wife shoots the 500's at 27". I put a 200 grain point on her arrows and she winds up with 500 grains.
