Got that little orange-ish card in the mail this morning, it's here!! Packed the girls up in the truck and went down to get my new Whisperstik.
What can I say about JD Lund and his bows that hasn't been said yet? Nothing, but I'll still say it anyway, "What a craftsman!". This thing is perfect. Cocobolo riser outline, Macassar Ebony riser middle and bamboo limb cores with Birdeye Bocote veneers. It's JD's new "Outline" riser design and it's perfect for showing off these woods. Plus, the bamboo cores are gonna make this one a real scorcher. It even came with a hot rod flame bow sock, lol.
Specs are: 56" Mojostik, 58#@28", with antler limb tips.
I know, pics are required, I'll get some as soon as I get back from the store. I'll get a nock point tied on and get her shooting as soon as I get back.
(OOPS, I had the woods wrong. I posted before I got the complete list from JD. I had him surprise me, so I didn't know the woods used or anything before I pulled it out of the box  )
OK, couldn't go to the store without getting some pictures first.
Here's the new Outline riser that's available from JD.

I guess I'll have to keep this one :D
Very fine looking bow!
My wife just saw the post and the first thing out of her mouth was "You let her pick out her own clothes?". :knothead: Then she realized it was a new bow. Gotta remember that as a diversionary tactic next time, LOL.
I love that riser design, JD never ceases to amaze me with what he comes out with next. I saw that bow the other day, its even more impressive in person.
My wife builds those bowsocks for JD. She keeps coming up with new patterns to make them with. the skull ones are my favorite.
Tell your wife she does a really nice job on the socks. I love this one
Does she sell them separately? I have a few bows that I need socks for.
You can order the socks from me. They will be on my website for $15 shipped to your door. JD
i WILL have Demo bow with me at the 10th annual The Real Thing " 3D shoot this weekend in Baton Rouge , yall come give her test Drive!!!! Mark :clapper: :clapper: :goldtooth:
That is a nice riser! Bocote and Cocobola were made for each other.
I edited the riser woods, since I missed one :readit:
It's Birdseye Bocote on the limbs over a bamboo core, and the outline on the riser is Cocobolo and the center is Macassar Ebony. It's without a doubt the best combo I've ever seen, IMO. Heck I'm sitting here taking a break from cutting up winter blowdown trees, having a cup of sweet tea and just looking at the bow. the wife was watching me look at it last night and said it was a disease. I told her she was right, but at least I wasn't in much pain, LOL.
JD,
Let me get a couple of days of guiding done and I'll get some socks and one of those T-shirts.
Did I mention how much I like the bow?? :notworthy:
I can see a Matching Voodoostik in the not to distant future ;)
Wow! What a great looking bow. You are making me want to take a trip to Coral and place an order.
That's a really sweet looking wook combo! Bet she's a really shooter. Congrats and best of luck with your new bow. Tge
Great Lookin" bow there Kevin! Good Luck and Good Hunting. Looks like you shoot her very well too.
It's the bow, not me. I've tried short recurves in the past and couldn't shoot them worth a hoot, but this one is the real deal. I can miss with it, but I have to try :biglaugh:
WOW Kevin, that is nice! I really like the design of the riser. If it was a lighter weight, you could send it to WV and I would tune it for you. I've been wanting to try that style of recurve for a long time. You know, I don't have to try to miss. BTW, I'm glad Sophie takes after her Mom. :biglaugh:
Yep, that child would be flat out ugly if she weighed 190 and was bald
Dave, you should have pulled the trigger on that one on the classified ad a couple of weeks ago. It was 42@28, wasn't it?
I think it was 42. I maybe should have but I'm just crazy about longbows. When you order one to go with it make about a 45 pounder. :bigsmyl:
Lordy, I won't need one that light for a long while yet, I'm still in my prime :D !!
Yeah, I want a longbow in matching woods, maybe 60", 60@28 or so. Vermont has a 60# rule for moose over there and it looks a bit easier to draw than it is here.
Take a look at the longbows JD has on his site. Go to the bows page and scroll down. There's some real honeys there and they won't break the bank.
Nice to see a Michigan company getting some business...and I see why. What a looker. I like that style recurve and the company is about 30 minutes north of my parents house so I'm going to schedule a road trip soon.
Josh
Yeah, they're sweet bows. Give JD a slap on the back for me, he's the real deal.
Kevin, sweet looking bow! Now, you've got to put it to use this fall!
Very nice bow!
Bobby, I still can't get over how this bow looks and shoots. It's going to get plenty of use. Heck, I already put the first scratch on it :knothead:
