Trad Gang

My wife and I designed a T-Shirt for the Auction.  After talking to Terry he suggested we go ahead and post this and start taking orders immediately.  So, we are going to be taking orders from NOW through 10PM eastern June 8th.  The cost per shirt will be $25 dollars.  These are heavy T's without pockets.  It will have a logo on the front and design on the back.  I will only be using one color, sand, see below.

Let me explain how this is going to work:  My wife and I are donating our time and talent in making the shirt design and filling orders.  I talked to a local print shop that does work for our church and he is willing to donate the setup fee.  The shirts are going to cost us $6 per shirt up to 50 shirts.  If we get more than 50 shirts he will drop the price to $5 per shirt.  We will be using USPS flat rate envelopes to ship.  They are $4.80 for domestic shipping.  If you have three or more orders we can put them in a flat rate box for $9.80.  Everything we don't use to pay for shipping or printing will go to St. Jude.  I'll keep a running total of how many shirts we have and how much we send to Doug for St. Jude.  I'm trying to keep this simple since it will be a mom and pop (Jennifer and I)operation ordering these and mailing them.  These will be pre-order shirts so I will only get printed what everyone orders.  This way there is no waste and the most money goes to the kids.

UPDATE: I just got the owner of the print shop on the phone after trying for a couple of days.  He was in D.C., he does shirts for the FBI and the Marines.  A couple of answers and a price adjustment.   The shirts are 100% pre-shrunk cotton.  The brand will be Anvil. Here's a pic of the shirt style in the sand color.

PRICE ADJUSTMENT:  I was not aware until this conversation (but should have known) there is an additional charge for 2XL and 3XL of $2 and $3 respectively.  If you want to add that additional amount to your total feel free but I won't require it.  For those who have already ordered 2XL shirts I will pay the extra $2 per shirt so the kids don't get short changed.

Terry should come along soon and make this all official and sanctioned, but I've been on here for two years and Killdeer and BigRonHuntsAlot and a few others know me and can vouch for me.  My son (in my avatar) was a patient at St Jude with uncurable cancer and they have a special place in our hearts and this was the best way we thought we could add to the auction.  This way those of us who's hearts are bigger than our wallets can participate.  There's no limit to how many we can order.  If you have any other questions post them here or email me.

Just to update everyone.  According to my spreadsheet the ESTIMATED* amount for St. Jude so far is $719.40!  


*(That's estimated because the cost of shirts could drop if we get over 50 orders and some people gave more than required and actual shipping costs haven't been entered, and my spreadsheet skills may not be that good. LOL)

  Still checking on the youth sizes.  I just got off the phone reminding him I needed that info.  BTW, the adult small is 4" longer and 1" wider in the shoulder seam than a youth large in case that works for you.  Just wasn't sure I wanted to open the Youth size can of worms.  May make it hard for me to keep track of everything.  I'm not sure I'd do it for just a couple of shirts.  Would there be any interest from others in getting youth sizes.  I'll let you know what I find out.

EDIT: The shirts are not available in youth sizes in tan or sand.  Sorry.

1)  Thank you for setting this up, I know it takes a lot of time ( and more money than one would expect) to accomplish this.

2) I am currently in Iraq and will send a check tomorrow.  It could take a few weeks to get to you though.  Do you have any other options for payment.

3)  This is first purchas on here so how does it work.  Do I need to send my address with the check?  And what is the address to mail the check to, I didnt see it, but will look again.

4) I would like 1 XXL, I will se if I can get some more of these items sold here on the FOB.  I also need to call the wife and see if she wants one.  Its to bad they dont have kids sizes.

I am 6'1" and 175 pounds. Depending on the T-shirt and how it is cut and shrinks (I understand these are pre-shrunk), I sometimes need a large and sometimes an extra-large. I always wear large in button-up, collared shirts. I want one of whatever size you think would work in the shirts you are ordering. I trust your judgment. I will send a check.

Rose and I packaged and mailed 13 packages (from St. Jude items already paid for) out from the Post Office today (so some folks can start looking now - LOL). Shirts will be done this afternoon!   I'll be picking them up and wearing mine to the STAR shoot this weekend.  If anyone who ordered a shirt will be at the star shoot let me know I'll bring your shirt with me.  I'm still waiting on 14 checks so if you ordered a shirt and haven't gotten around to sending the check yet please try and make an effort to send it this weekend so I can start sending out the shirts.  This week coming up is going to be hectic for me, my mother goes in for cancer surgery Wed.  

We should clear around $1,400 for St Jude, probably more because a lot of you generous people have included extra in your checks.  I'll know the true total once all the checks come in and shipping is paid for.

Well I was all set to pack envelopes today but noticed the ones the clerk gave me were "mili-paks", for military addresses.  I consulted our resident mail representative, killdeer, and she informed me I couldn't use those.  Soooooo.... I packed the two military addresses we had and all the big orders (3 or more) and I'll take those in tomorrow and get the right envelopes!  We did get all the labels printed so it won't take long to finish up.  Meanwhile I'm still looking for 11 checks, and you guys know who you are.  ;)

I exchanged the envelopes for the proper ones and plan on stuffing some shirts tonight.  But first we have to go out and celebrate.  My Mom got good news from her surgery!  Looks like the cancer was contained.  Praise the Lord.

So glad to hear that about your Mom, Talondale, I know what a relief it is when there is "Cancer clean" results in the family. Have had it twice (My wife, and my brother - on his first time, it was a good many years before he got it again, and then in a different place).

Just a note, I have 15 shirts that haven't been paid for.  I have sent emails to everyone that has ordered one and still hasn't paid.  After the 4th July weekend, if I haven't heard from them and once I'm sure everyone received the right sizes and there hasn't been any mixups, I'll start contacting others who have showed an interest in buying shirts and see if we can match up some sizes with people who want them.

I would like to be put in line for a adult small for my son.

Chuck's kids meandered bravely into my camp at ATAR, even though Spirit was guarding it most ferociously from her perch on the picnic table. Bless their hearts, the two stalwart girls were on a mission, and they sweetly delivered to me the St. Jude's T-shirt that I bought in the auction. I wore it all the next day. Thank you so much, Talondale, and your wonderful wife, for the creation and execution of this rather large project for the kids. The design is great, the shirt is top-quality, and I am proud to wear it.
