Just wanted to wish David Peterson a happy birthday today. Hope your day is filled with Dinkel, cheap cigars, turkey gobbles and close encounters of the wild kind.
This gear is on the way tomorrow Dave, although I can't call it a birthday present...

Dave, Happy Birthday Bro! My wife has the same birthday. Just got back from a morning turkey hunt, had a cagey Tom gobble quite a bit. How has your turkey season been going? T
Happy Birthday Dave! Just about to finish the last of the 3 or your books my daughter bought me for Christmas. Thank you for sharing your writing with us and again, Happy Birthday! Mike
Dave,
Happy Birthday My Friend. Remember, bowhunters are like a fine wine. With age comes taste, flavor, distinction and character.
Tonight while sitting on my deck, I shall sip a fine Bourbon and light a spicy Cuban in your honor.

Thank you, indulgent friends! Yesterday, to celebrate 62 years, and under the guise of turkey hunting (in fact, I haven't heard a gobble in two weeks here, but if I have a season and a tag, I'll be out there), I took a solo adventure hike around the backside of the local mountain, up the creek valley, straight uphill to the highest point, then down through rocky scree and up again into Pond Spring bowl and back to the cabin ... a distance, elevation gain and pace that I perhaps kid myself would wilt the average guy half my age into his Birkenstocks or pointy-toed boots. I was marginally crippled myself, but not for long, as I got back just in time for happy hour. That's what a lifetime of true hard hunting will do for you, using the 'quads' God gave us. Yes, and only the best women, booze and cigars! Thanks again, young fellers. Dave
Dave, I'll lift a bottle tonite and smoke a montechristo #3 in your honour my friend!
I always use the quads God gave me man, and I'll outclimb, outhike, and out- anything anybody I know that is half my age too brother!
here is to the "old" guys :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!! Heart felt thanks to the man who made me and many others take a hard look at how and why we hunt, and opened my eyes to Abbey, Shepard and Leopold. I just wish I'd found your work sooner Dave. I'd say tip one for me but the way this thread is going you may very well suffer from alcohol poisoning if you tipped one for everybody.
Thanks Dave,
Brian
Happy b-day dave
Happy Birthday Dave. Wish I were there to help you celebrate!
happy b-day Dave. Just finishing your last book. It's the best .Thanks
Dave, Happy Bday! Had a roasted wild turkey breast and a few fresh morels in your honor!

Happy Birthday Dave! Thank you for the advice and words of wisdom. I enjoyed a sip or three in your honor my friend.
Belated Happy Birthday Dave. We will toast to your honor this evening. No fancy cigars or spirits here just my wife's homemade choke cherry liquor and venison with fresh morels.
The mountain across the road from my house says it can kick your butt.
Happy Trails,
Chad
I don't know, rumor has it Dave can not be trusted with sharp, pointy things! :help: :jumper:
Dave,
From one who has enjoyed your writings, I wish you a great belated birthday. Looks like you spent it in the best way possible. My 50th is coming up this saturday, and I only hope I can enjoy it in the same manner. I'll be in the turkey woods as well on my brthday, and that alone is a present enough!

Happy B-Day Dave.
Whatever you do......don't stop posting. Many of us "younger guys" regularly search your handle to read what you have to say on any number of topics....Especially elk hunting.
Stay true to your beliefs and convictions. I, for one, appreciate it.
Mike
:clapper: Happy Birthday Dave, just a little late. Best Wishes Bill
Thanks, fellers, really. I am grateful and humbled ... and now way2old. dave
Dave,
A very heartfelt albeit, belated Happy Birthday to you Sir!
Can't add much to what all above have posted about how much your writing and posts have meant to, and helped so many of us.
Watch your mail. Not quite ready yet but, there'll be a package showing up in the next couple of weeks.
Ron
HAPPY BIRTH DAY!
On your B-day I was using the QUADS given me to climb out of fish canyon to the top of the highest ridge in Guernsey State Park. The gobblers were quiet and I just had to see the view from the top. The Turkey Voltures were working all the draws and canyons around the country the Pioneers crossed in wagons. The view worth every drop of sweat.
Keep writing. Keep posting.
The two Daves are the first thing I read in TB when it hits my mailbox.
Thanks
Happy 62 Dave....I see your herd is growing!!
Mike
