Recurve 43lbs at 26inch draw 28inch arrow..I would like to use 150gr head? im thinking 1916 thoughts

Sounds like a good possibility.I like 1816s as well at your draw length and arrow length.Shaft length and point weight are 2 variables you can play with as I think you could go from a 27 to 29 inches on arrow length with no issues
I use 125,145 and 175 grain poits on my 1916s and 1816s to work on my bows around 40 pounds and I draw 27.5.I cut my arrows from 28 to 29.5 inches.

I would agree with Steelhead and add that I like the 1916 because you can tune the arrow by using a steel adapter for more weight, aluminum for less, and still play with string size and/or dacron v. non-stretch (FFL). You might order a test kit from 3Rivers to validate your choice.
Here is the 3River spine chart: read from Alu, 41 - 45#and across to 26" - 28" for 1816 @ 26" or 1916 for 27 - 28".
