Title: Windstorm longbow
Post by: Benoli on January 01, 2024, 06:39:23 PM
I just came across what looks to be a youth longbow in very good condition. Markings on the bow indicate made by Windstorm Archery. Specs on the bow indicate it’s a Chinhook model, #34@ 24”, 54” AMO. It’s a left handed bow. Anyone familiar with this bow? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a Windstorm recurve that I gave away as a wedding gift many years ago, a local-ish shop carried a few at one time. I was told the bowyer built them in Ohio somewhere and is now out of business. I liked the bow a lot, nice craftsmanship and had a nice "frosted" finish.

Yaa,he built adult custom bows and the youth bows as well.

It should be a well made bow.

I had a Windstorm youth bow for my daughter years ago.  I don't recall the model, but it was a well-made bow and had a neat finish.  I think they went out of business over 10 years ago.  Internet search provided me with this info:
Windstorm Archery from Zanesville, OH and the bowyer's name was Tom Cable.

Thanks for the info. As mentioned the frost type finish looks very good and should durable. It shoots well and smooth when drawn. Wish it was a “righty”.

I bought a youth bow for my son. I think it was about 25 pounds. It was a very nice made little recurve bow. I think i payed about 100 bucks for it. I had it made with a purple heart riser and maple limbs.
