Needing some help with arrows wanting to swap to carbon and shoot a high foc. I currently shoot a 62inch 55# at 28 inch browning explorer ii. Drawing 27 3/4. I currently shoot 3rivers hunter 55/60 spine shafts with a 125 grain swickey eskimo 2 blade with bleeders. Arrow length is right at 30 inches. Hoping you guys can point me in the right direction on arrow setup don't really want to waste alot of money Testing.

What point weight do you want to use?
-
Was thinking about a 175 grain vpa single bevel but open to ideas

I haven’t shot Carbon in years but if you not adding a heavier insert then you probably uses 400 spine maybe 300. I am sure more guys will chime in with more experience with what you’re looking for.

I love my wood just thought the carbon may be better for foc. Do you think I could get away with a 175 grain on a 55/60 spine shaft.

A 55# woody with a 175 grain head will probably be weak, but you could give it a try. In a carbon, you'll need a .400.

What broadhead?

You could shorten your woodies a inch and see if u can use 160gn point
I shoot 30inch 60/65 out of a 56lb at 29 with 125 up front.........when I shorten/break them to 29inch I need 160gn points
I also use 30inch 400's with 225gn points out of same bow...ymmv

Ace express, and grizzlies

I'm with the 400 crowd. Might try a test kit from those that offer one.

With your set-up I'd probably add 5# over bow weight for over 28", 5# for over 160 grain head, so 65/69# spine. Maybe 70/74# for modern string material.
