I injured a tendon in my left(drawing) hand back in March, and I still can’t shoot left handed, and for the last several months I have been shooting right handed, mostly with my dual shelf Paul Bunyan 100.
Since I didn’t draw any Fall tags in New Mexico, I drove to Oklahoma for some deer hunting. I knew that the bow was up to the task, having killed an hog with it left handed right before moving to New Mexico, it was just a matter of me doing my part.

I was able to take this buck on Tuesday evening, then a small doe on Wednesday morning. Still looking for a hog to shoot with this bow, but gonna start giving a vintage Damon Howatt a chance as well.

Congratulations on the deer. Very impressive. I never shot off hand but I have tried brushing my teeth left handed and almost poked an eye out. 😁 I could only imagine how shooting that way would feel.

Congratulations not only on the deer but the successful switch … not sure I could

Well done, congratulations :campfire:

I love this post !!! Nice deer with a cool bow, proves it's not about the equipment and all about the hunter.

Way to go Pat, stick with it.

I had a chance to use the chronograph on my Paul Bunyan 100 as well as my Paul Bunyan 300.
The Paul Bunyan 100 which is around 52 pounds at a little over 30 inches draw length shot a 571 grain arrow and 164 fps.
The Paul Bunyan 300 which is around 72 pounds at a little over 30 inches shot a 708 grain arrow 177 ft./s.

That's impressive.
