I bought a Wing Thunderbird off the auction site. !["[dntthnk]"]("graemlins/dntthnk.gif" "\"\"")
The bow has stress cracks in the fiberglass of both limbs. They run length-wise of the limbs and are about 3" long max. This model has inserts on the front of the bow on the top and bottom limb right in the fades. This is where the lines originate. I have some epoxy and thought about pulling it back with a bowstringer and sqirting some in. Will this work or is it even advisable?
This is otherwise a pretty nice old bow and I wouldn't mind refinishing it. Assuming this can be stabilized, what is the best thing to use to take the old finish off?

Check out v-archers site, he done a pearson I think it was that had some stress cracks across the limbs. He may tell you how to take care of that. Good luck.

Cyanoacrylate is the glue to use on stress cracks

Boy Ted, that glue is a mouthfull. I'll see if I can get some.
I checked out V-archer's site. He did a real nice job on those bows. Makes me want to jump in and go to work.

O.K., O.K. I solved the riddle! Woo-hoo! Cyanoacrylate = super glue. I'm going to the craft store to see if I can get the thin kind. Does anyone have any suggestions for removing the bow finish? Should I just sand it off? If so, what grit should I use?
