Title: Bear limb coating

Hi Guys i have recently started my trad journey. Ive picked a an old bear kodiak and a black bear magnum.
They have some marks on the front of the limbs.
Im good to sand and prep the old finish.
Im assuming the coating is a polyurethane gloss.
Just want to get some advice.

Yeah that will work. After sanding lightly, wipe down with denatured alcohol or something that will de-grease it and spray several light coats.

...but be sure to sand lightly as not to affect the limb tiller.  :thumbsup:

do not use anything heavier than 220 grit paper for sanding those limbs. the riser can be sanded more aggressively, but finish with 220 grit.  i would recommend a marine spar varnish over a poly finish.

this stuff is pretty user friendly and comes in a spray can or by the quart. this is a really  decent water base finish. I've used it on outdoor furniture and was impressed with durability, and UV protection..
