tapering, self nocks both should be done first, Well the first thing after straighting them... anyway it would be like this.

1) straighting shafts
2) cut self nocks
3) Taper shafts
4) sand shafts
5) clean shafts (acid tone,etc,,,)
6) check straightens
7) Stain shafts ( if Your going to do that )
8) check straightens
9) crest shafts ( If Your going to do that )
10) check straightens
11) seal shafts
12) check straightens
13) cut to length & taper points
14) Fletch arrows
15) Shoot them

doing stain & sealers.. use as many as you like to stay in weight.... I really just like to whip on some poly 3-5 coats.... in a years time I'll add 2-3 more for touch-ups.... I also check straightness after ever shoot if I'm shooting a lot, if I'm just shooting weekends once a week...
Come hunting season... when ever I get a chance..

Take your time, ask questions when you can... The only dumb question, is the one that isn't asked.
