Quite a few of us started hunting with a gun, than onto a compound and than a traditional bow.
That's the same way I started my son when he was able to hunt.
Here's a few photos of my son's journey at 12 years old, 13, 14 and now 16 years old and driving :scared:
Nothing is more special to him than his doe taken with a longbow. He hunted all year and was blessed with an opportunity the last day of the Maryland season.

Tim..thats awesome buddy..you done real good with him
Sure looks like you got him started right.
Tim... Congratulations. Passing down the tradition is one of the greatest things you could do for your son. Well done!!!!!
That's just cool, great series of photos. When I looked through them the first time I thought this could be an ad for the Schafer Silvertip "the bow you'll eventually own" slogan.
Congrats to you and your son!!! Looks like he's progressed into quite an athlete too.
This reminds me of a passage: Raise a child in the way he should go and when he is older he will not depart from it.
Cool :clapper:
Hey Tim junior, you need to go to the leg tanning booth, your legs look like an old guys I am/know.
Bill
Hey Lost.........He's also been blessed on the athletic field as well! The sport of our Native Americans "LACROSSE"!
Congratulations. That boy has his compass headed in the right direction.
You both sure have a good right to be proud. Excellent. Well done Tim.
