Hunting Scenario #2 Location: Washington Coast Tags: Elk, deer, bear, and cougar After sneaking in on humping bears, I find myself eighteen yards away from a large boar on a sow's back. I climb approximately eight to nine feet up onto an old growth stump to get a better view through the brush. What do you do?

I hunt for meat. I have a bear tag. I harvest the boar as he is dismounting and let the sow and her hopeful young live to repopulate.

Perfect Garrett!!! That was my thinking exactly. The only trouble was that the brush was so thick, I could only see glimpses of fur through the leaves and branches. So, what happened after he dismounted the sow, they disappeared down the gorge. So, I lightly blew my fawn bleat and he reappeared to my left at around sixteen yards quartering to me. He took four steps to my left onto an elk game trail and the arrow was on its way. I hit him a little far back as he took one more step, then growled and bit at his side while running away down the elk trail. I drank some water and ate a granola bar and then heard what I thought was the death moan about eighty yards down the gorge. I then called my brother on the midland two-way radio and we found him piled up down the mountain about ninety-five yards. It was one awesome evening. 5 :archer:
