Title: Predator limb repair
Post by: Dan85 on May 30, 2023, 11:13:36 PM
I currently have a predator classic recurve and some of the glass on the lower limb as splintered off a little bit. Anybody know how to fix it or anything I can do to prevent it from growing.

Hard to tell from the pic. Is the glass raised up in splinter on the edge? If so you could sand the splinter part down smooth and refinish. Those white spots look like a finish or air bubbles under the glass problem. The bubble part not fixable.

Ok not sure how to refinish fiberglass, but the edges are not raised up.

Clear auto motive wheel paint. If you  have  splinters popping up the glass may be defective. If it's the finish it should sand out. Sand it and shoot it and see what happens

You can also use Helmsman Spar Urethane. Just sand it down first with 220 grit paper.

After its dry, polish it out with 0000 steel wool for a satin finish.
