Been kicking around the idea of a backyard moving target. I have some ideas like using one of my old 3d deer targets on a cable run. Before I commit to something I'd like to see what setups some of you have come up with.

I haven't done it but i have seen targets set up on garage door openers on the ground. Click the button and the target is in the move. Cheap and easy one if you shoot with a buddy is spray great stuff into an empty plastic bottle. Tie the bottle to the end of a fishing rod. Your buddy can make a cast to give you a flying target and reel it in for a running rabbit target.

great idea :clapper:

my cougar is up on a tree branch on a rope , it doesn't move , but you let it down to retrieve your arrows.

I like a small ( say, 6” diameter ) target hanging on a rope. First shot is fairly easy, but after that, it’s moving pretty randomly.
A backstop is a good idea here… 😉

I too have thought of using a garage door opener to pull a sled with whatever target you want. I have a slight slope so motor should pull it up hill and it should free wheel back.. an old push mower deck, sans motor, should be a great rolling base to mount a 3d, big, or foam target. (Put a rogue punkin’ on it, :biglaugh: Rough terrain would make it pretty realistic.
