Title: Any Hawaii Hunters still out there?
Post by: Kyle85 on March 24, 2023, 02:49:19 PM
Hi there, I see the old Hawaii Forums with Ryan Sanpei haven't had much activity lately, but I'll be out on Oahu for a few years starting in April and wanted to connect with any traditional archers that might still be out there.  I intend to get up in the hills after those goats and pigs, and maybe jump over to the other islands for Axis deer or sheep.  Let's share stories over a cold beverage on me!  Mahalo,  -Kyle

Yeah, thank's for the heads up.  Once Ryan left Stalker I'm not sure what all he's doing.....

We need to make sure the Hawaii threads stay here now.  I'm going to lock down that forum to read only so all the previous info can still be read.  :shaka:

Get to Kapolei and sign up for the Bushwackers Archery Club.  This is the go-to place on Oahu.  One of the best clubs I've been part of over my 50yrs of archery in 5 countries.  They took me in as ohana (family) and shared the secrets of the island.  If you join the club, you will see almost every archer on the island.  It's 30ish walking 3D target range is great and has every class from youth (5yrs old), old recurve guys, to open-category big Hoyt-sponsored shooters.   Island Archery shop by the airport was my place to get what I needed locally.  There are about 3 ranges on Oahu.  The state championships are held in the spring near Mililani.
Have fun and don't settle for just Oahu hunts.

I always enjoyed Ryan's postings.  Hope all is well with him and his gal.  :campfire:

Kawika B was a regular here as well. Pretty sure he was on Oahu as well.
