Got this trilam finished. Hickory, Purpleheart and Ipe. 65 ntn, 19 inch Merbau powerlam, riser built up with strips of Merbau and Maple. All three full lenght lams were tapered before glue up, came out without having to do much adjusting.

No shelf?
How wide is bow at riser?

Bue
What is you total taper going out?? :)
-
Max. Total taper 7,5. Hickory backing .0015, Purpleheart center .003 and Ipe belly .003. Next one I will make a reverse taper on one of the lams the last 6 or 7 inches to stiffen the tips a bit.

I've done it at .006 just to help it bend but still had to scrape a good bit to get it tillered.

Beautiful bow, Bue! Care to share the specs? What thicknesses you used, and what the draw weight turned out to be? Thanks!

Knuklhed. We use the metric system, but I’ll try to get it into thousands of an inch.
Measured from thickest part in bow center from back of bow.
Hickory thickness 0.150 with .0015 taper
Merbau power lam 19 inches long, thickness .190 straight taper to nothing.
Purpleheart center lam .140 with .003 taper
Ipe belly lam .260 with .003 taper
Glued on handle strips 11 inches long
Bow’s widest part is 1.20 inch tapering to 1/2inch just before nocks.
Bow ntn 65 inches
Glued up with nocks about 1 inch in front of back of handle, after tillering and shooting the nocks are in line with back of handle.
Nock reinforcement mix of glass and wood. Fast Flight string.
43 pounds at 28 inch draw.
