Anyone using these heads in your lightweight bow? 40# - 45# setups. Looking for thoughts and how well they fly. I like the looks and was thinking of changing out my Zwickey's with some of these.

I have not used them on my recurve, but did with my compound. I had zero tuning problems out a fast bow. They mirrored my field points. I used them on my last bull elk hunt a few years ago. The bull was quartering towards me slightly and downhill. It entered a little forward in the shoulder. Made a hell of cracking sound. Still was a complete pass through. The blood trail was gruesome. The bull left on a dead sprint and crashed hard after 70 yards. I would not hesitate to use them at all.

If my hunters blow thru deer with a 42# bow using a Tree Shark, you should be confident.

I'm just disappointed they only offer one head in glue on now.

They fly great out of my bow. 39# at my draw. I haven’t shot an animal with them but I did shoot broadhead league with them all summer.

I to wish they would offer more glue on options. I only use wood. Always been intrigued by them.

I'm using the larger swamp sharks and land sharks on my 47lb Palmer recurve and get passthroughs on deer and most hogs. I love them and the rada sharpener gets them very sharp in no time.

I agree wishing they made 175 190 glue on.

Do you guys use a chainsaw file to sharpen these? I can’t imagine how else you could get a decent edge on them… just curious…. Kirk

I use a 3 sided, concave file and a clamp holding the broadhead.

Have successfully sharpened Simmons Concave heads using several inexpensive methods over the past decade.
The easiest, quickest and most consistent method to sharpen, in my experience, is to use the plastic Stay Sharp Model C Guide. Note: Has worked wonderfully on Tree Sharks and Timber Sharks. Have not experiened any issues.
Doubt you would be disappointed with the quick hair popping results.

Simmons sells a sharpener on its website that gets them hair popping sharp. If I'm in the field I use the rada sharpener which gets them almost as sharp.

A chainsaw file is a little too aggressive for the Simmons broadheads. I use a fine concaved file and round sharpening and honing sticks (replacement sticks for Lansky Crock Stick). I use the guide that simmons sells.

Blew completely thru a gob on a filmed hunt last season.
Was shooting 43@28 and Tree Sharks.

Just wondering, what will this head do that a Zwickey won't? Why change? Just curious.

I use the Tiger Shark Its an amazing broadhead huge holes easy to sharpen and flies like a field pt. I sharpen with a steel made in England it has a concave surface two sides coarse and two sides fine I also sharpen them on my Sharade hone steel

just use a rada sharpener
