Title: 125 grain Snuffers?
Post by: M60gunner on December 29, 2022, 10:37:27 PM
Question for the broadhead experts. Did Snuffer make 125 grain 3 blade heads? I recently acquired a couple doz BH’s that surly resemble my 145 grain heads. But there is no makers ID on them.

Original Snuffers were all the 160 grain heads/glue on weight.

Various later iterations, Delta and Magnus, for sure, made different sizes (lighter weight) heads. There were lots of 125 grain heads made in those years. No Snuffer would have any "makers mark" or name/branding on them. Woodsman heads differ in having no front vents.

Smaller heads were made by just grinding down regular sized heads in a grinding jig.

I had some, had the blades bend on them going through deer and you couldn't resharpen them.

We shot the 125 grain a lot my son still uses it we thought they were the best of all the snuffers, we shot alot of bears with the 125, good blood trails .

Thank you all for the information. I don’t know at this time what I plan for them. That weight doesn’t fit for me at this time. But who knows

the 125's with steel inserts were tough!!!   I have all the snuffers and if I was hunting bear I go for the 125's but weighted with 75gr steel inserts over the 160's with aluminum.

I still have a bunch in the drawer.  100s with and without inserts as well as some of the 125 without.
I still prefer a 3 blade.  My field experience has been limited but I like them.  I think they are harder to sharpen than the Zwickey 2 blade.
