Can a nock be too tight on the string? I have a few that snap on really tight? Can it cause an issue when shooting? Thanks! And merry Christmas!

Yes, they can be too tight and they can cause erratic arrow flight. If your arrows are flying well and consistently, I wouldn't worry about it. If not, you can either open the nocks a bit, with a file or by heating them in hot water and prying them open, or change your string serving.

Agree with Orion.
I would opt for changing the serving to fit the most commonly used nock size, and then if the nocks that are fitting too tight are not that size, changing those nocks as well. I find that more than 90% of the nocks I come across fit the same size string. Unfortunately, I don't know how that size is measured. But an example of nocks that fit the same string pretty closely would be an Easton G nock, a Bohning F nock, or a Gold Tip GT nock.
Choose the serving size such that the arrow will snap on easily, not fall off of the string under its own weight, but will fall off if you give the strin a sharp tap.

Absolutely they can be too tight. Bad news if when your string returns to brace and you arrow is hanging on for dear life. If I have any that are too tight, I sand them with folded sandpaper. Been doing that for years.

Too tight causes it to be a louder release as well.

Thanks for the info!
