Title: My first year targeting mature bucks on public land ...

At least I have some Jimmy Deans haha.  It's like looking for a unicorn that's waving a winning Power Ball ticket.

Dude that's getting to rock bottom.   However Jimmy makes some decent sausage.
The hunt for a mature buck, public or private land, can be an effort in futility sometimes.  But feels really good when it happens.  That is why doe tags are always nice to have . . .

I've let at least a dozen deer walk so far.  We'll see if my resolve cracks now that season is coming to an end.  Heck, I could fill all my tags from my backyard ....

I've used cameras the last 3 years and this year I saw the buck I wanted. He came in on Hallowen and I missed him just after this photo, got excited and didn't pick a spot.
