Title: AD arrow users
Post by: BMG on May 10, 2008, 12:30:00 AM
Just got some AD arrows.  Got the nock inserts for glue ons.  I have some 5/16 Classic nocks.  Do these work with AD's?  Here is a picture of where nock meets arrow and there is a 1/32" gap between edge of nock and arrow.  This does not seem right.  What nocks should I use or is this gap not affect arrow flight.    http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm81/BabaLoo78/100_0607.jpg

NO....you need 9/32 glue on nocks or by cutting off the tip, you can use the Easton standard "G" nock.

I use the AD nock inserts & 5/16 nocks that seem to fit fine. I've been using Nirk nocks.

I used 1/4" when I shot with the glu ons because even the 9/32" seemed to big. The 5/16ths are too big for sure.

Nonsense , that little lip will not affect a thing , I prefer the 5/16 nock fit on my string to the 9/32"
Also Bohning does not make a 9/32" any longer and I prefer the Bohning classic nock.
Yes the G nock will work for those that cant handle the little lip , but I for one dont like the tiny nock , guess it boils down to beauty is in the eye of the bowholder.

5/16 are way big.  1/4" work good, I also found that 9/32" work well if I grind them down a bit so the don't bump into the arrow shaft like the 5/16" in your picture.

I use the aluminum adapter w/ a 5/16" Merc Speed Nock. Flight is absolutely perfect, the 5/16" nock fits my string perfect, and they appear near bomb-proof. I'm w/ Ted on the 5/16" nock.
