Title: Waldrop turkey chair came today with pictures
Post by: thump on November 11, 2022, 08:55:38 AM
I have the standard chair, does anyone have any problems shooting a bow from their turkey chair? I can't my 60"longbow at around a 45deg-35deg angle when hunting from the ground.

I wish I could help, but I've never sat in one. I too have the standard and LOVE it.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I have the Millinium tree seat , while it’s very comfortable, I keep finding places that I can’t hunt from it , always thinking a Waldrop seat would work great in some of those places.

I guess I need to add I don't know you're shooting style,  I shoot canting from many cant angles, even reverse cant, so l would be able to manufacture a shot out of the turkey seat.

I'm going to check their site and see how low it is and find something around here that hieght I can sit on.

Terry, I also shoot with a a strong cant ,looks like I'll have to order one since I'm unable to find anyone actually sitting in one on line.

Be interested myself. I have the standard one but have been wondering if the turkey one would be a option. Most my bows are 66-68” long. Gonna do what terry said and look on there  site to get a height and replicate it too  :bigsmyl:

I am assuming the turkey chair is just lower?

Yes Roger, that's what the owner told me a while back, but I didn't think to ask how much lower.

I saw a you tube video a while back and seems I remember that the turkey seat was 6 inches lower than the standard. But , I could be wrong. Can’t seem to find that video now.

Wow, comparing to my original, which I absolutely love, it sounds like it's really close to the ground.

With this chair I'm at about the same height as if I was shooting from my knees and have no problem shooting my bow from it. But I will say it's definitely not easy to transfer to your knees out of this chair as it is with the taller one. The chair is definitely comfortable and I can see myself sitting in it all day. I have no regrets buying it, it's going to be a great addition to my turkey hunting kit also.

Guys, hope this reaches everyone.  The turkey seat sitting height is 8" off the ground while the standard pacseat is sitting height 15" off the ground. We have plenty of both in stock and can be ordered @ www.waldroppacseat.com. Thanks for your interest.

Yes thump, they weren't designed to roll forward to your knees.  I called Tim yesterday and he told me that they were trying to cater to all hunters on this. He said that the overwhelming number of turkey hunters were shot gunners.  And, while they sit on the ground they prop their elbows on their knees. So the turkey seat caters to that mainly   but also give then a much more comfortable sit than the ground.
