I'm sitting around at the end of my shift this morning worried about all the sheep to be sheared once Terry gets done bidding, concerned for the welfare of some members as they prepare to go to "batter", and really nervous about just how Vermonster's going to look wearing Bernie's cheerleading outfit when in walks the guy in charge of our charitable organization. Two minutes later, he handed me a $200 check to send TradGang for St. Judes. Simple!
Now for some reason, I just never thought to ask before, so I figure, there's probably quite a few of you out there with cash donation resources available that you're overlooking too.
So here's the challenge....Ask! Social clubs like the Moose or Elks, Church, Police Associations, Fire Unions, practically any social group or organization that holds bingo or various other gaming type events, all of these and many more regularly donate or are required to donate a certain percentage of their earnings to charity. At 16,000+ members, I'm sure quite a few of us belong, or know someone who belongs, to these organizations.
It's a win, win, win, win, win proposition. Not only do you get to help the kids, you also get to help these oranizations meet their charitable obligations, help TragGang meet it's St. Jude goal, feel good about doing a little something extra, and maybe spread a wee bit of good news to others letting them know just what we crazy stick carryin' folk are all about.
Take Care.
Awesome thinking buddy!!
Bernie's outfit might fit on my left leg. LOL
It would take a serious cash donation to get me dressed in one of those. We're talking at least three zeros behind a number bigger than 4. And I would need a legal fund for all the decency law fines I'd get. ROTFL
Great idea otherwise.
Dave, you better watch what you say with this group. I think we could arrange a cash donation that big!!
with over 16k in membership, I'll again make the statement of last year:
If we each gave only a buck........
Tim for a $5000 cash donation to St. Jude, I'd have to do it. Lord help everyone.
Whip I think you need to throw together another Conglomerate. This one could be called CD Inc. "Cheerleader Dave Inc.". Whatcha think?? :readit:
Sorry Dave! :biglaugh:
I am sitting (rolling here on the floor) laughing my fool ol' head off - and loving every minute of it. Some "other brave soul" may just be looming large on the horizon . :clapper: :jumper:
.................................
Oh, also let's not loose sight of Molson's original post/suggestion - great idea of resources!
Or of the oft repeated thought of Just One Dollar from each member!
Had to bold the "Large" part, eh Bernie? lol
It seemed like the thing to do at the moment, Dave - :D
I would kick in $500 towards Dave's cheerleading debut but there would have to be pom poms involved!Anybody else out there willing to live dangerously?
KPaul :scared:
There is a Pom-Pom with the "Retired Outfit" - I'm just saying ....... ;)
If you guys are serious, I'll do everything but shave my legs. Cheerleader outfit, wig, the whole deal. If it looks like enough folks will do it and you can come-up with $5000 for the kids, I'll have Doug put a thread in the auction.
Dave:Now that you mention it shaving your legs may be a requirement for 5K. Anybody else in? I also would want an autographed photo.
KPaul
I will be in for $300.00 this year. Not much, but it will help. The donation requires no leg shaving or other things that would make me go
Great Brian!I could let go of the leg shaving but an autographed picture of Dave would be a collectable. Anybody else out there willing to walk on the wild side for the kids?
Ahhhh - the spawn that we spawn, when first we jest in innocence :D ;) - BUT IT"S ALL FOR THE KIDS! Should this come to pass, bless you during your up-coming "reign", VTm  (Given the chance, I know you'll do me proud, "Li'l Grasshopper")
(Don't give in to shaving your legs, Dave - they'll be itching terrible by Deer season :jumper: )
Not exactly where I was going with this, but there ya go guys. If Dave will "Gimme a T-R-A-D..." for 5k, then it should be nothing to get ya to check on what's available out there.
I'll kick in another $100 on Dave. Someone get it posted on the Auction.
Now remember Dave...I was just making a joke, you gave it life!!!!
I know this thread went off on a tangent but we already have 900 pledged to St Judes.Nice going Tim.
Anybody else out there?

Since I got it started I will be in for a few hundered. I will have to count my piggy bank and see what I can come up with for a final total. Lets get it posted and see what we can do!!
For the kids I'll do it. Let's get it into the auction.
Dave you are me HERO!!!! :clapper: :clapper:
Ok the thread is up.
Now back to the original purpose of this thread.
Get asking for money from anyone/organization you can think of folks. $100,000 is a big nut to crack and we'll need to work for it.
How much to keep Dave out of the outfit? I don't think I could stand it!
Probably could raise $10,000 that way, eh Brent? lol
Ya know, I was up there this weekend and Dave was already practicing his Pom Pom shake...a little :scared: Doc
:help:
Nah, I was just swatting black flies.
As many of them as there are - i always thought those Black Flies were a protected species up there - ;)
Gee, I'm glad to see you aren't going down that road as cheap as I had to last year, Dave (especially when we are shooting higher). 'Course poor Killie was the only one bidding (and got stuck with one bid) for me to do it. "They" were talking about paying for me not to do it also, and letting her off the hook - but the overload/breakdown of the site left both her and me ( ) holding the bag - well, whatever helps the kids at St. Jude - I'm for it. Good on ya, buddy. Gotta go see what they posted about your "Day In The Barrell" (or Year - LOL) :jumper:
