Title: E bikes for hunting
Post by: gordydog on October 19, 2022, 05:52:45 AM
I saw Barry Wensel's post about using an E bike to hunt with. I have a fat tire E bike and am contemplating using it for stand access to reduce spooking deer?? How do you guys like them for hunting? Any pics of how you mount your bow to them?

I can't afford one, but I can see where they could be handy as we get older.  Hiking back 2 or 3 miles wasn't an issue 30 years ago, but now,  :banghead:

Make sure you frame your question stating you will be using them on private land. You will get chastised for using them on public ground.

I use mine all the time in place of driving 2 tracks and logging roads on private ground. They are handy and better than my truck or an atv in my spots. I don't take them right to the stand, just general area. I found it freaks deer out if they spot them. I have had it for 6 years now, and I love it for its intended purpose.

I use a simple Kolpin atv gun rack to carry my bow as my roads are pretty wide open.

I've been researching them casually. I intend to purchase one after the first of the year.  I'll be using it on trips to places I don't want to haul my electric side by side cart to.  I'll also be using it to get some exercise as the load sharing allows you to pedal but have assistance.
I'm not sure I'd care if people questioned me about public or private.  That's kind of not really their concern.  Not all public use areas have the same restrictions.  I'm responsible for knowing and adhering to them.
