Title: 2022 season failure before leaving the backyard
Post by: IvyMike on October 04, 2022, 03:46:29 PM
Horrible way to start/pause the season. Just grabbed it for a few warm ups this morning and this is the thanks I get. Hopefully your season is going better than mine so far, lol.

No physical harm caused. No backup plan was made either. It’s a loaner from my brother. :o I have found a few el Cheapos on the amazon that I’m looking into for a replacement, but it’ll be a few weeks probably. Such is life. On to being lead guide and cameraman for the kids until I can put something together.

Glad you're not injured, and that it didn't happen a thousand miles away on a once in a lifetime hunt.

Although I appreciate it, #55 is heavier by a bit than I shoot, and this is my current luck with borrowed equipment. So, I’m going to tough it out until I can buy my own this time, lol. Thanks anyway and best of luck with your seasons this year.

Ouch! I had a limb break end of July.  It was an ILF limb.   Had new limbs by the end of the week.  Something to think about on your next bow.

My downer is that the owner of land I've bowhunted on over the years is has now transitioned to assisted living and likely soon to some level of nursing care.   He's a great old knarly guy and is in his last days.   I know some of the family but don't really want to bother them with access to the land right now.  They have enough on their plate for now.    I do have a very small parcel--less than 8 acers--I have access to and public land--though overburdened--is not too far away.   We'll see how it goes.....

Keep 'em sharp and shoot straight.

That is my fear as well. I shoot an older vintage bow and I really dont want to cheat on her with a mistress bow.
But after seeing this I'm going to begin looking for a ilf riser that has similiar contours and shape.

Glad you weren't injured also.

Four years ago I had a buck approaching fast and decided to pass my bow behind my back, as he was approaching from the other side.  When I did a snag caught my glove.  Ended up being a partially splintered limb.  One lucky buck, one disappointed hunter.  The limbs were only a couple of years old. You just never know.

Seems to happen with borrowed  stuff. And lent stuff.  Why is that?.  Looks like an above average bow. Pretty
