How many tradangers are or were involved in scouting?
Got my Eagle, one of the best things a young man can do!
1984 Troop 51 White Sulphur Springs, WV
I was never a boy scout, I was in The US. Army....does that count?
I went through cub scouts and then about 1 week of boyscouts.. I stopped because the troop master we had never took us outdoors...
Eagle Scout 1976, troop 41. Only president never elected signed my certificate.. Gerald Ford. I use skills everyday I learned from Boy Scouts. Boys Scout and watching Andy Griffith will mold a man..
I was in scouting for a lot of years. I made it most of the way through boy scouts before I started hanging with the "cool kids" and I decided scouts wasnt "Cool". I regret the decision I made but what are you going to do. My dad is still involved in the same troop I was in and Him and I do winter survival training ever Feburary.
I had 10 years of scouting.I made it to Life scout. Had some family/personal problems and didn't finish. Was a den leader for 3 years and now I am the Cubmaster of a Pack of 60 fine young men. I am also involved in my older sons' Boy Scout troop. The scouts are under attack from the politically correct. Our Council has just lost our funding from the United Way.

Same here, made it to Star then what Tim said. Just too bad.
Bob
Eagle Scout in 1984.
I would also like to say congratulations to all of the guys who made it to Eagle.
Brian
made it to Life
spent 10yrs as den leader, Pack Leader, cook & bottle washer....
Yes, I made eagle.
But my brother calls me Cheif Walking Eagle...so full of it you can'y fly! Ha!
I guess he got out as a tender foot.
I was really close to getting my eagle, but then the scout leader quit and the troop dispanded, I worked really hard to get there and lost my chance at eagle
I got "1st class" and then almost made it to "Star" but then I chickened out :knothead: :banghead:
I made Life Scout but never finished either. One of the few disapointments in my life. Football and bowhunting won the battle for my time.....
Made it to life
I spent 6 yrs. as pack leader/scout master of the same pack I was in while my son went through it. Unfortunately when I moved to another pack to follow along with my son the pack disbanded.
I made it to Eagle in 1966. Brotherhood Order of the Arrow. My brother made Eagle also. We were the first set of twins selected to go to the World Jamboree.
I was elected Chief of the Wahinkto Lodge in Order of the Arrow in 1967, then we moved overseas and never got back into it. Best thing a boy can do is be a scout. Best thing a man can do is be a scout leader. If it were not for my job keeping me away I would be one now.
Eagle Scout 1979,troop 561, Pleasantville, Oh.
I learned alot back then.
I was fortunate enough to have a father who knew how to push the right buttons. A few months before my 18th birthday he left me a note on the kitchen table. It pretty much read that one chooses his own path and life and those who don't try won't succeed in many aspects of life. I still have that note in my dresser drawer 14 years later. Chokes me up every time I think about it. I know he's not reading this but thanks for the kick in the pants dad. Skippy
Eagle in '63, also Order of the arrow and God and country. It helped to mold the man.
Prarrie Dog
Eagle Scout Troop 77 Denmark South Carolina.OA Brotherhood Member,Sukea Sipo Chapter. It was all a blast. My son is currently a Wolf Scout in Cub Scouts.
Eagle Scout 1976, Pres. Gerald Ford signature is on my Eagle Scout Certificate.... earned 53 merit badges total but never earned the archery merit badge... ah the irony.
10 years in the Army as well, 2 yrs. active, 8 yrs. Reserves, discharged Ist Lt Air Defense Artillery ... 1990.
Eagle Scout 1985. My son turned 11 last month and joined Boy Scouts the next week. He is the fourth generation of my family to be a scout in the same troop following in the footsteps of my great uncle, my dad, and me.
I was a Cub Scout, then a Sea Scout. I went back years later to become a Cub Scout Leader, then Venture Scout Leader. I ended up as the District Explorer Scout Commissioner, but the highlight was seeing my son make it to the World Jamboree in 2003 in Thailand.
Recieved my eagle in 1974, with oak cluster and 62 merit badges. Was still active until 1995 as Asistent scout master. Now my daughter is going for her gold award which is the equivlent of eagle. So you can guess that I am now more involved in girl scouting. But souting never the less Bush Wacker/ Mike N.J.
Got my Eagle Scout in 76-77 (i think have to dig up the card to see). Went thru Cub Scout/Webelos got the Arrow of Light then. Both my brothers made Eagle also.
Could cook better than my sister. Made a bigger mess, nothing like cooking over a campfire, don't worry about a little spillage.
Come to think of it never got the Archery merit badge.
You need to add a choice for "never was a scout".
I am happy to have been a scout although I never made it to Eagle.
Also, I wouldn't put it "never followed through" to Eagle. It is a tough road and some of us may not have been capable.
Congrats to all who did make it to Eagle. I had the time of my life with the BSA.
Dan
Got my Eagle in 74 or 75. Great lessons can be learned from sticking it out and finishing!
Made it as far as 1st class then dicovered gas and girls.....My 23 y/0 son made Eagle a month before his 18th bday....I was envolved in leadership or Committee member from Tiger to Eagle with him......we both learned much and it gives us a special memory......and lasting friendships with other Scouts and Leaders
I was a lifer, Eagle 1965, Brotherhood Order of the Arrow, an early sign I'd end up here I guess, God and Country.
I have been an Eagle Scout since 1983.
Life scout here
I was never in scouts as a kid but I'm a trained leader and am a Den Leader for my Tiger scout son. Does that count?
I have been in scouting since 1973, started as a cub scout. I am now a Scoutmaster troop 176 Hawaii, Order of the Arrow, and Venture leader. Scouts is a great place to get kids out doors. My son and I share and continue to make great memories of hiking and sitting on top of the mountains talking about life.
Yours in Scouting,
Steven
Hi All,
I was a sixteen year old Life Scout when my troop folded for lack of adult leadership. I've been involved as an adult volunteer (Assistant Scoutmaster) for eight years.
Girls don't get to be Eagles.
Killdeer :(
I acomplished my Eagle Scout in 1988. Scouting introduced me to archery. Scouting and the outdoor adventure experiences that scouting brought to me, are the greatest positive influences on my life.
Longbows & Short Shots,
Jeff Schulz
You are an Eagle among turkeys to me Killy!
Brian
Eagle in 74, bronze palm, order of the arrow, Philmont 75.
Couldn't swim and never made it past 2nd Class. No kids of my own I worked with my nephew's troop until he made Eagle, and then beyond. Now I work with Scouts on the Shooting Sports, archery and shooting-rifle, shotgun, muzzleloading.
