Mr. Morrison, I would like to thank you for your generosity. Circa 2003/2004 I was shopping for a new longbow, I called and we talked. You loaned me your back-up bow to try out. I was vacillating between your bow, Jeff Massie's and Jim Reynolds. I eventually went with Jim's bow, but it was a tough chose. I had my son randomly hand bows to me and I shot blind into a large target. I'll not soon forget your generosity. Welcome back for the fire.

Bob, you remember when you loaned me that Cougar at Cloverdale 2003 when Torges and Lamb asked me to shoot when I was basically still a young buck?....

Excellent !!

Nice to see you here again, Bob. I've owned a couple of your bows over the years, which have all been top-notch. What have you been up to since retiring?
-
Morrison Archery was a buzz here for years and years. Since you sold out Bob you wouldn't even know they were in business. I miss your posts for sure. :campfire:

I know. Only 2 models, and Max6 limbs. I always had fun making different types of bow 1 pc. 2 pc. 3 pc. and always trying to improve on our designs. I still keep play with what I got left. I'll be hunting with Shawnee Longbow this year. and a 52" Max6 limbs in ground blinds.
-
Bob, I have pics of that bow.... hold on...

Mr. Morrison,
Welcome back! My favorite longbows are still your Shawnee with carbon/foam limbs.. You are the MAN!
-
Terry, I remember giving you a bow to shoot the course, who is that young guy in the pictures? Hard to believe almost 20 years. Time flies when you’re having fun.
-
Thanks for the phone call this morning Bob. Enjoyed it a lot. Saved a whole lot of typing. :biglaugh:
Take care of yourself brother…. Kirk

Wow. Great stuff. Welcome back Bob.

Glad to see you back Bob. :campfire:

Bob glad to see you back.
You made a Cheyenne recurve for me back in 1995. It was 60"amo and 60#@28". Great shooting bow. It killed a few bucks for me.
-
Had one of your recurves years ago, I shot my first few traditional archery deer with it. I still remember it being a sweet shooting bow, and I could sit in a stand and admire that bow to pass the time. I can’t for the life of me remember why I ever parted with it.
Welcome back.
-
I got more Cougar action... hold on...
-
Bob,
I remember chasing down a rattle snake in Texas with you. I still have at least a 1/2 dozen of your bows...tippit
-
Season opened in Missouri today. I was sitting in a tree stand this evening thinking about how you are doing and the awesome recurve you built for me years ago.
-
Glad your still hanging round Bob literally LOL:)The years go buy quick!
Have owned quite a few Morrison bows.Kinda miss that Shawnee 3 piece longbow I gotta say hint.My other Morrison bows were great as well.Never got a chance to try that Dakota with carbon/foam limbs.Wanted one baaaad.
Welcome back and keep slinging arrows for a long time to come and pursuing those nice Ohio whitetails.
Cheers!

Hi Bob, It's good to see your name pop up again. A lifetime ago I owned a few of your bows that, while I wish I still had, I wouldn't be able to pull today. Glad to see you posting and hope you are well.
-
Hi Phil, I still have a few of the original bows. I have 2 setup for hunting this year. One is and old Shawnee its about 40# @26" longbow limbs. Shoots a 600 VAP shaft with 300gr point really good. Bare shaft tuned. I plan on hunting with this bow. Ground blinds I have a 52" Max6 limbs 500 VAP with 300gr points. I plan on shooting a glove 2 finger. Arthritis may change that if it does I will use a release. Like everyone else I'm looking forward to next Saturday opening day here in Ohio.

I remember it well. I got a few cactus in the rear backup from that snake, also brought a few Ticks home with me....Bob

Welcome back Bob. Good to see you here again.

Bob,
It is so very good to see your name! Brings back a lot of fond memories of earlier days.
My hunting bow today is still the Cheyenne riser you built for me that fits my hand like no other ever has. I got it with 47"@29" limbs when MS robbed me of the strength to pull my 63# Jerry Pierce Choctaw, but as even that became a challenge I had it retrofitted to accept a set of 43# Max 6s. It is an amazing bow that has kept me hunting.
Thanks for all you have done for me, and for our sport!

Wow, remember that ACS that you told me that you made for you, 51@26”? The one that you put canebrakes on for me? I shot it three weeks ago. My carpal tunnel has not given me a break since. :banghead:
The Cheyenne you made for me got cuddled by my friends the week before that. :archer: One wanted to buy it from me. :saywhat: :nono: Still so sweet and steady! But I can’t shoot a bow until my medial nerve forgets its outrage.

Miss those days.

I can’t remember the actual bows but I do remember the the shoots after seeing the pics. I also remember the young guy building bows and proud for those who received them. Getting harder to remember, pictures do help.
-
Dammit. Now I gotta fire up the desktop where most of my pics are. This may take a week.
These posted pics are at Baltimore, 2006-ish.
Bernie and I also were graced by your presence  at ATAR at Stephens Lake in Beckley, WV. I bought Bernie Dunn’s ACS that you worked on. That ATAR was a hoot, with Dano, Bernie, Pat B, Chuck Sinclaire and a host of others whom I would like to name but it is past sleepytime for me as I get up at 4:30.

I’m doing good if I wake by 7:30. I don’t hunt mornings so I need all the rest I can get to make it to the woods in the afternoon and evening.
-
Your beating me out of bed and I am younger than you.I never was much of morning hunter.Snoooooze!:)
-
Bob great to see you back , my three Morrison’s are my most prized bows. This year the Cheyenne with 43lb carbon foam limbs is getting the nod as I tore my rotator. Shoot straight
-
I have only been able to hunt 3 days so far. 2nd trip out I had a slip (Tree stand slipped about a foot) it took a lot of staining to get back into hunting position. hunted the next evening no problems. next day both shoulders sore real sore also back spasms. I hope to get out next week. Golden years my A$$.

Btw, NONE of those hunts above wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Tradgang.... Nor would I have met Bob :campfire:

Nice thread for sure. Bob you build a custom Cheyenne for me some years back. And I have an older Dakota II picked up up somewhere years ago I don't even remember. I'm going to send you a private message with questions about that longbow if you don't mind. Please check when you can. Thanks, good to see you here.
-
Good to see you post Bob. I still have hand hunt with the 300 xtreme heads you used to sell.
-
Bob,
I remember when I was looking at the new R/D longbows and you sent me your backup bow to try out. Ended up going with Jim Reynolds, but really liked your bow.
