I've seen this wood before but can't recall what it is
-
I know what the riser woods are but not the limbs, sorry I should have stated that.
-
Picture way too large and out of focus to tell.
-
Yea, I don't know how to fix that. I didn't know it was gonna turn out so large
-
Little hard to tell so out of focus, but I’ve seen snakewood and myrtle that look like that, among other woods.
-
That's it McDave..Myrtle. It's probably myrtle.
-
Try and see if I can make it smaller
-
Another pic
-
The only wood I have had that resembles that is Myrtle. Here is a pic of that bow. If that is what it is that is some amazing Mrytle.
-
Yes, it sure looks like it to me.
Thanks for the info
-
Myrtle would be my guess too.
My Blacktail when new in 2019. It has darkened nicely since.

Never seen myrtle so reddish in color!
-
Ask the bowyer.
-
I asked the Bowyer, pics aren't clear enough to be sure but he said it could be Myrtle.
Ain't no big deal to me I was just curious.
-
I can see it better now it is myrtle .
-
Thank Tim, I'm anxious to shoot it.
-
Looks like Myrtle burl(try saying that 5 times fast) It could also be dyed or stained before glue up.

I've been out of town so tonight was the first chance I've had to shoot this kota Prairie Swift.
I know when it comes tobows it's all personal preference, but I've shot many recurves in the last 47 yes and this is probably the quietest recurve I've ever shot.
I wasn't sure what kind of string came with it but I thought maybe it was B50 so I switched the string out to a new 10 Rings Mercury.
This bow is very quiet at 8" brace height.
I got home late so I didn't have time to play with the brace height much or shoot it in the daylight but this bow is absolutely pleasant to shoot and the grip is perfect for me.
All the bows I've owned n shot thru the years, certain bows stand out to me and this Prairie Swift is definitely one of them.
I always intended to get one of Tim's bows thru the years but never have for whatever reason.
The workmanship is flawless.
I'm really not into cosmetic appeal as far as woods go, I like colored glass but this is one of the most pleasant bows to shoot.
There's been some bows I've had to warm up to and some I never could warm up to and I'm sure the majority of the time it was me and not the bows...but this bow, IMO, will be the perfect hunting bow for me.
