That is one "Mighty special" Bow Terry !
I was one of the lucky few that got to share and shoot The Little Delta bow !
Best with the Raffle , and hope the lucky person realizes just how special this bow truly is .....
-
Yes Sir Riverwolf, you are very correct sir....
This bow was on the 2nd journey to Alaska when Glenn St Charles rounded up another bunch of rowdy rogues to go into the wilderness to stay in the cabin they built the 1st year.
This hunt was accompanied by Fred Bear as well. The book 'Bows on the Little Delta' is one of many a bow hunters favorite books. This is because its not just a hunting book, but an adventure book as well. It is also my favorite hunting book by far just because of the idea, fortitude, prep, and determination along with the adventure this book takes you along.
The bow in the raffle was owned by a guy named Bill Brown, that again was included in the 2nd hunt of Glenn's adventure to the 'Little Delta'. It is a Bear bow, 64"s - 59#@28 Bear Kodiak.
This bow was hunted by close to 100 bowhunters after that as it was passed around for years. It ran the gambit on Tradgang as well till it finally got offered up on the St Jude forum where Tradgang procured it for a very hansom fee of over $3200 back in 2007.
I don't have any sons, nor any grandsons to pass it down to, and I would like for it to go to a Tradganger that would 'Carry the Torch' so to speak and keep the memory of it alive.

As you can see, there are two small holes on the back of the riser. Those were drilled for site and stabilizer back in the day. They were filled in by a bowyer years ago and are in no threat to the operation of the bow.

Thanks guys! Hope it picks up, a bit slow for the 1st day. I also changed the $35 to $36 as that's going to get too confusing mixed in with Contributing Members on PayPal. :smileystooges:
No worries to thise early bird 35ers... gotcha covered.

Somewhere I have a picture of me holding that bow and a 5 foot rattle snake that I killed with it. I was able to hunt with it one morning for around 4 hours before my brother used for the evening hunt. The snakeskin was used to back a bow that won the PBS best selfbow category at the Salt Lake City Banquet two years later.
That bow has some good MoJo.
-
Yeah Walt, so many photos got held hostage by photo bucket as well. Its a shame that the man that donated it created such a riot that a few people even pulled their stories from existence. And some fake accounts wreaked havoc to the point of us having to pull the forum designated for it.
I do have around here somewhere, that will turn up, the bow sock with all the signatures it could hold.
-
I cannot remember signing the bow sock, think I did but wouldn’t swear to it. Remember thinking I shouldn’t sign it because a snake doesn’t qualify as a game animal.
Doug Campbell, Mark Baker, Kent Brown, brother Bob, and myself, went on a Texas hog hunt before the PBS Banquet in San Antonio. Doug killed a nice pig the first night, then the rest of us each had a morning or evening to hunt with it. I think Mark and brother Bob both took something with it.

Awesome!!! PP sent, I'll take three.

Just bought my 2 tickets!
-
I just bought 3 chances. This is a piece of trad history that needs to be preserved and passed on to future generations.
-
Reading "Bows of the Little Delta" and saw Bill Brown mentioned.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2: :campfire:
-
Wow, I remember those stories. I think the book sells for over $200 now. Best of luck to the site and the ticket owners. :campfire:
-
Thanks so far guys, the chances are still really good at the moment.... :campfire:
-
Up for post Labor Day... :campfire:

I got a chance to shoot the "Little Delta Bow" at the JLMBH years ago....
A bit heavy for me, but just holding it, was a humbling experience!! :notworthy:
My oldest son Big Bear (Kevin) got to hunt with it, and even missed a bunny with it, at Shawn's bunny hunt!!
Shawn developed a "pass around" where after a drive, whichever stander had the "Little Delta Bow" would pass it to another, and they would "trade" bows, to insure as many folks got to hunt with it as possible.
It was after dark, when my son got his bow back.
Someone hollered... "Hey!!! Kevin Nelson! I've got your bow!!"
-
OK... I'm a dummy!! :help:
You have a "link" for these tickets, Terry??
-
Yes.... sorry....sometimes I assume everyone knows....
[email protected]
-
Hey wait... you are as bad as me... :biglaugh:
It was in the was already in the original post. :knothead:
-
Hmmm...?? my clicker don't work?? :dunno:
-
There is no link....
There's a paypal address and my address for checks.
:campfire:
-
Tradgang owns the bow....
But with these chances Terry Green may buy tickets!!! :readit:
If so, I will have to film every name as it goes into the hat for the drawing by the 3rd party drawer if so. Which BTW, I will be glad to do.
I sure hope there are more out there that are hanging onto our history. There was plenty of competition during that Auction when Tradgang won this bow and it still would have went for over $3000 if Tradgang wouldn't have won it. Seems a lot has changed over the last 17 years.
I only hope there are enough guys that have the passion for the sport to pass it on. I remember Ron LaClair saying, "We were wondering who would carry the torch on the internet" shortly after Tradgang was started. Now, so am I.
-
Just bought 3 tickets
-
Terry,
Can't get into my PayPal...?? :dunno:
Must be cuz of the move, new email, IDK???
Got a check on the way!!!
-
What a great opportunity for someone to own a truly historical bow. I'm not worthy but best of luck to all who take a chance !!!
-
Just bought three tickets.
I killed my first ever turkey, a bearded hen, on the last day of the New Hampshire turkey season with that bow, I’ll never forget it!
David
-
Just purchased three tickets.
-
Just bought a ticket. What an awesome piece of history. I have an autographed copy of Bows on the Little Delta in my collection so the chance to even hold this bow is awesome.
-
I read the other thread and agree 100%. I remember the good natured fighting over this bow years ago. Seems times have changed. Best of luck to the last bastion of hope it seems.
-
I’m confident that whoever has the honor of winning this raffle will carry on the tradition, as well as share the stories and history of our sport that it took and played such an awesome part in. Sometimes a flame is a bright blaze and other times only a flicker. A flicker is all that is needed to start another blaze.
-
Finally came in outta the woods.
45$ coming your way Terry
I won a signed Paul Brunner bow at PBS banquet this year, the lil delta bow would be a fine addition
Kevin
-
I did not see the year mentioned, but it was a 1958 Kodiak. I saw a picture of Bill Brown shooting at a Caribou, at 100 yards. I am guessing, he was the original owner.
-
Just bought 3 tickets …. Get this bow over to Oz 😎
Can we buy more than 3 ?
-
Yes Ben, you sure can.
-
I’m in and have good vibes.
-
I'm in. GL to all.
-
Hmmm...?? Could say something.... But, I won't. :nono:
We here at TradGang have a code of conduct :archer: :campfire: :archer:
-
Wow, now you're up to 25 posts in 9 years!! Where have you been?? :dunno:
Do you only pop up out of your hole to start trouble???
If you read Terry's posts... Ron LaClair said, "Who will carry the torch for us on the internet??"
The title of the thread reads "Platform Software Raffle 1 - Historic Little Delta Bow"
This raffle is being held to raise money for new software to keep TradGang running....
As our departed Brother Ron said, "To carry the torch on the internet"
Yes, Terry did reserve the right to cancel the raffle, and refund everyone's money, should there not be enough interest... TradGang purchased the bow for $3,200. Selling it for $1,000 is just plain STUPID!!!
If any member here, does not feel that buying new software to improve TradGang is a needed investment...
Then don't buy a ticket!!!!!
-
:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Mike and Co still butt hurt!!!
-
Hmmm...?? Could say something.... But, I won't. :nono:
We here at TradGang have a code of conduct :archer: :campfire: :archer:
I'm sorry... what did you want say? Please tell us.
-
Yes, Huston is butt hurt. He's sissying all over the internet
-
Well... To put it nice and polite....
He has 25 posts... In 9 years... :readit:
Hmmm, let's see... 9x3=27 Maybe someone who only posts 3 times a year (actually less)
Should mind their own damn business, and keep their comments to themselves... :knothead:
-
I am a complete and total idiot
-
Thx Woodchucker. Much abliged. Looks like Mikey is still the whiner and has fake accounts here of which two have been eliminated.
It's been 15 years and he's still crying. Sad.
-
So...... did you ever straighten the limb?
-
Cry Mikey cry... send in your minions... you never killed anything but time... cry baby cry!!!
-
Anytime, Brother!!! We stand up for family here... :archer: :campfire: :archer:
-
So...... did you ever straighten the limb?
Yes years ago.... guess you weren't paying attention.
-
I'm not a Mikey minon. Don't know the guy, have never talked or corresponded with him. And this isn't a fake account. It's the same account I have had since the beginning of Trad Gang. Member #117 back in the day.
I do know what happened with the Little Delta Bow during the auction, and so does Terry. Mike is not the villian and those who know, know.
If anyone cares to hear it they can contact me directly. You'll probably need to call or email me though because I'm guessing I won't be allowed here anymore.
So be it. I'm screen shooting this one though so it can't be erased.
-
Hmmm, so I guess you're not buying a ticket....???
-
It's really sad when evil people try and sabotage history. What losers are amongst us. Mike and Co still crying after all these years. Blaming an institution like Tradgang for purchasing history and then condemning Tradgang for passing it on.
Those that posted and had their posts removed I agree, they never killed anything but time. Piss poor representatives of our sport. Sad indeed.
-
Rob.... go get another hole in your head.
-
"I was there when it all went down"
Too funny, can you tell me what town and country the server is in????
-
Thanks to all.... I will host the drawing next week.
Best of luck to all.
-
Just bought some Thanks Terry
-
Thank you for your efforts on St Jude. Those that whine here pale in comparison.
-
Wow. Great offer!!! I almost missed it.
-
Guess you're not buying a ticket either...?? :dunno:
-
Terry when is the drawing? The other post said was to be this Tuesday.
-
Wow, so glad to get back on!!! Had major computer issues!!!
Looks like some temper got heated while I was off line. Anyhow, that's all cleaned up now.
I will be drawing for the bow tomorrow so that will give people on more day but buy a ticket if they like. Going to dinner with my mom and she will draw out the winner. I remember having my girls draw out names when they where young and I posted their videos here.
Anyway, tomorrow at 8 PM sounds about right. Sorry for the delay, but its been a mad house!!!
-
No problem, Brother!!!! Life happens.... :banghead:
-
Re-sent the money for three tickets via PayPal.
:banghead: :archer2: :coffee: :campfire:
