Hey gang. So been thinking lately in my search for a used black widow pma or ma 64" with no luck got me wondering how many of you are shooting one? Always thought them to be popular but maybe I'm wrong. Love seeing pictures of them!

Black Widow has a FB page. I have seen them for sale there. Most hunters it seems prefer short bows, 60” and under at least for recurves. My Widow was 64” but I hunted more open forest out West here.

Sorry, i am unable to help you. The 64"r may very well lose in the performance realm at the 28" and under draw lengths.
Do, very much, like my 62" PMA...I draw 28"s.

The PMA is one of the classic BW models, and has been around a long time. It doesn't have the sex appeal of some of the newer models, so it's likely that a first-time buyer might pick some newer model, and might be more likely to sell it because he really didn't know what he wanted in the first place. Someone who buys a PMA probably knows what he wants, and may be less likely to sell it. Anyway, that's my theory, and I’m sticking with it.
The 64” PMA is rated by BW for a 28-32” draw length. As Friend noted, you might be sacrificing some performance by selecting a 64” PMA if your draw length is 28” or less. However, if my “theory” is correct, you probably already know that and either have a draw length longer than 28” or feel that the stability of a 64” bow is worth a small loss of performance compared with, say, a 62” PMA.
I hope you are successful in finding one, because in my opinion they were, and still are one of the finest bows ever made.

I've been on that fb group but with no luck and I don't see people shooting them much?
McDave I think your on the right track there! And I do have the draw length to fit the bow but honestly I don't know if that would stop me if I just pulled 28" either. And we shall see if anyone post here that is currently rocking one.

Have shot many many thousands of arrows out of 64 inch MA's over the years, and have killed the majority of my animals with them. I have a couple of risers and last I checked around 10 sets of limbs. I also have a couple sets of 62 inch limbs and have used them a bunch too, I don't really notice a difference between 64 inch and 62 inch MA's when shooting. I like longer bows, have never had issues hunting with them, recurves up to 66 inches and longbows to 68 inches. Just gotta know where your limb tips are!
Dad always called Black Widows the "Cadillac-O-Bows" and I can't argue with that.
R
64 inch a couple falls ago, 62lb at 29 inches.

Last visit to BW they had a PMA Greybark hangin on the wall all by itself. A 64” , 45#@28. I shot it the best of the other fancy wood bows they had. Did I buy it? No, like a dummy I passed.

I am no expert, but I like my 64" PMA a lot, I've had it since 2006. I have a 31" draw and it feels like you could draw it from here to the moon without it stacking. It does seem like there's a stronger online following for shorter bows, and I've been thinking about getting a 60" PCH or PSR myself. But I shot a black bear last year out of a tree stand with my PMA, and didn't have any clearance problems.

M60gunner that's a sad deal there bud! Definitely seems they aren't very popular right now in the 64" and the people that do have them aren't letting them go that says to me they are sweet shooters! Maybe I'll get lucky soon.

See shorter ones for sale occasionally. Don't recall seeing one that long ever.

I'm shocked none have showed. I see 60 to 62 inches regularly. :help:

64” PMA seem hard to find used. Same with 62” PSA. I’d really like to find a 62” PSA with ordering a new one
