Get pictures out of the gallery on my phone and post them here
-
Use the browser on your phone to access the bench. Use the "Attachment" link and it should ask you where to get the Attachment. Select the Gallery or whatever the photo collection is called on your phone and select the photo you want.
If your phone photo files are large you need to resize them first. Resizers can be downloaded for free. The resizer will create another album in the gallery for the photos you resize. The original image remains the same.

My i-fone has a size selection at the bottom in itty bitty letters when you get the pic selected. I do medium and no probs.
Also if you can get the pic to edit feature, rotate it a full turn and it will post right side up and not sideways... :goldtooth:

Thanks.
I know Kenny don't ask ? :biglaugh:

I either gotta ask or get my 3 year old granddaughter to help...

I use google photos a lot and have my phone set up to automatically upload back up photos. This allows me to just attach a link with multiple photos or even an album, rather than uploading the photo itself one at a time. This allows me to do all my editing in google photos at full size and quality.
When I want to upload the photo to be seen without a link, I use a photo editing software to edit and resize, save to the device, then upload to the forum.
I use an iPad or laptop for all of my posting’s. The little tiny key pad on the phone drives me nuts trying to type. using a voice recognition software doesn’t work well until I teach the phone how to swear and use slang terminology. :biglaugh:

I use Imgur to host the pics I want to put online. I am sure it will happily upload whatever pics you want off your phone through the app and then you use the link they provide to put the pic into a forum post. No farting with image sizes or anything this way and people reading can open the picture full size if they want to see the detail, rather than being stuck with the small picture size the forum limits you to.

I use Imgur for hosting a lot of my website photos. I like some of the links available for html coding. But…. I lost a bunch of older photos on Imgur I cannot locate to save my life. Don’t know what happened there. Kirk

Mike over in pow wow at the top of the thread listings, the second from top and second from bottom of the darker stickied threads is info on posting pictures.
Also longcruise info will help you.
But posting pictures from the phone is the same process as on a pc.
You just have to navigate to where your pictures are stored and then select the one you want.
Biggest problem with cell phones is they take humongous size pictures and need reduced in size before posting in trad gang. So it's best to edit downsize any pictures you want to post first.

Okay it let me go to my gallery and choose the file then brought me back
Now what?
-
When you hit reply to post your message , scroll down until you see attachments and other options… hit the choose file button… and chose the photo from your library , or take a photo…then hit insert attachment…. Kirk

Like Kirk said, after you select the picture and it takes you back, click insert picture.
There is no preview for pictures.
So after you click insert picture, then just click the post button like you do to send your text message.

I discovered after some trial and error, that picture files have to be less than 600kbs to load onto this websites platform. For me its a lot easier to upload pics from phone/camera to computer and then resize or do editing.

The forum software has become much more user friendly than it used to be and auto resizes most photos. For a long time you had to resize everything to max of 640 width. And uploading photos from a digital camera to your computer was a bit more challenging too.
The easiest photo editing software I found, and I still use it today is Microsoft picture manager. I think they dropped that free software when Windows 10 came out, but it can still be found and down loaded separately to your system.
The one I still struggle with is video editing. I have tried a bunch of different software, and most of it is not very user friendly at all. Finding something that you can easily trim and edit, then upload to you tube or Imgur is tough to find. Video editing is very time consuming too.
With these phone cameras becoming so advanced, and so many options for photo storage and editing, it’s pretty amazing. I’m going to play with phone videos a bit that auto upload to the cloud, and see how that works out.

I'm in the same boat on video. Especially resizing. Can't find a usable app for it.
This photo sizer is easy to use in conjunction with posting. Easy to crop rotate and size

I wonder how FaceBook does it? Very easy to post pictures and videos straight from your smartphone or IPad.

Do it again and look to the right of chosen file (swipe left some) :dunno:

Use your lap top or pc then. Why use the phone if you have issues?
I use an iPad a lot, but the lap top is easier for photo stuff. Kirk
