Here is a Macassar Ebony Sasquatch SS RC with a full overlay with flush limb pockets. The overly on the back and recurve tips is Shedua.
The bow is 60" in length and draws to 32" beautifully with a nice string angle. This one is 48 @ 29"

Cool lookin bow :clapper:

That wood is spectacular, very nice work. How do you keep the riser from cracking where the thick overlay that flushes the limbs up starts?

There is nothing to crack, It's a FULL Overlay

Good question Mark....
There are two #8 stainless steel screws that i counter sink and use when i put the initial overlay on with epoxy. That gets covered with the wood overlay.
These are mandatory with a wood riser. Even with an I-beam they flex enough to crack that flush limb pocket without the screws.... Notice the top one is offset for the shelf cut out. This one has a G-10 I beam and most likely wouldn't crack, but fixing it later is a chore, so i use the screws anyway for insurance. Kirk

Thanks for the explanation, that sharp corner has always seemed like a problem area to me.

In order to make the center overlay the same as the limb butts I mill extra material when I’m milling the limb components. But… this one has ebony wedges, and bending 1/4” ebony to fit that radius back riser is not practical in one piece, so I milled 2 pcs @ .125. Here is the lay up.
