Killed my second traditional critter this morning. Today was the start of our late turkey season. Didn't quite go the way I had planned but it worked out just the same. I was eating breakfast with the kids before taking them to school. We saw a hen come into the yard and was soon followed by a mature tom. I ran downstairs and grabbed my bow and headed to the garage. The kids stood at the window and watched as I stalked out of the garage and down the driveway to the barn. I peaked around the corner of the barn to see the tom in full strut. Taking a step to side so the limb cleared the barn the bird came out of strut and started walking. He was heading to an opening so I got to full draw and anchored and picked a feather on his wing. I don't remember releasing and never heard the bow but I can still see the arrow disappearing into the feather I was looking at and I can still hear the hollow thump of the arrow striking. He ran and flopped about 20 yards. The kids came running out of the house yelling how great dad was. 9 1/4" beard 3/4" spurs. 125gn Magnus Stinger out of a 58" 53# Black Widow PSA.

Nice bird...figures someone would get one the "easy way" I use this term lightly because now turkey is easy.
I was out most of the day and missed a jake this morning. First traditional arrow loosed.
Glad someone was batting clean-up.
