Well after a year and a half of shooting I'm 0 for 1 on game. Figures I couldn't start off with a kill but what a blast.
Jake came in and I wasn't going to shoot but after an hour of him behind my Matrix he finally decided to walk infront of me. He wouldn't walk close to my decoys but that is why I set them close. He doubled the distance and guess what I did...didn't pick a spot. All that practice picking a spot and I looked at the whole bird.
Lesson one...partialy complete, we'll call it work in progress.
It was nice to get a shot finally at something.
Keep after them Josh, I did the same on a huge thunderchicken opening morning....flung an arrow right over his back! I did manage to get a jake a few minutes later...
Best of luck!
Quickly humbled is a lesson we've all learned alright. Post bird pics when you get them.
Congrats Josh. Birds are small targets to hit. I missed one this year as well.
