Following the bare shafting/tuning advice, I purchased GT 5575 added 100 grain inserts. Three bare shafts w/ 145grain field tips and three w/ 175grain field tips all are hitting target within a 1/2" of the others low right after a some cutting. Does that sound right for 30 grains difference?? Or my shooting forming lacking?
With four inch feathers added the 145gr flying flatter at 15yards but the 175gr seem to be grouping better.
I'm shooting a longbow 54# @ 28" w/ a 28" draw bareshaft/arrows 31 1/4". Still have to try the bare shafting with my 48# limbs.
One more question, I was thinking of using the 100gr brass insert adapters what epoxy/glue is best to attach broad head?

What angle is your bareshaft hitting the target at for each? Is either of them hitting straighter than the other? The point of bareshafting is to get an arrow that flies and hits dead straight without any feathers...is this happening with any of them?
I use a two-part epoxy called 5-minute Araldyte.
This is jusy MY findings. arrow lenght has more affect than tip weight does. When I get the arrow lenght correct I can shoot 125gr-175gr plus 100gr insert, with little effect. your resluts sound right.....
I agree with above synopsis. I'm shooting the same arrow and weight from similar specs with the 5575's and even 50 grains doesn't seem to affect flight drastically with carbons.
I do notice better penetration with the heavieer points.

all specs aside, for me 30 grains makes a big diffrence in bareshaft tuning.
I'll agree with CJC, 30 gr can make a BIG difference out of some of my bows with certain arrows.
Ben, I never have a bareshaft hitstraight on to the target. For me, the point of bareshafting is to get the arrows to land slightly to the right of my same shafts that are fletched, regardless of how the nock is angled. My arrows are perfectly tuned in relation to how they stack next to feathered shafts, but the nock is always out of alignment.
