Title: Heavy Footed Shafts
Post by: Bryan Burkhardt on May 04, 2008, 12:31:00 PM
Who is the best source for heavy, premium footed shafts?  I was using Rusty before he retired.

Thanks,

Bryan

I've always hears good things about Bob Burton at whispering wind I think Kerry Gesink at cedarsmith might do footed arrows but I'm not sure on that . Good Luck Greg

BodarkOkie,

Do you have experience using shafts from The Footed Shaft?

One of the nice things about Raptor is they will install footings on your own shafts for a more custom arrow. I just sent some sitka spruce shafts to be footed with osage.

Bryan:  The Footed Shaft's footed shafts are made by Kerry Gesink out of Colorado.  Top quality.  I should add that he uses compressed shafts -- 23/64 shafts squeezed down to 11/32.  Thus, for a given poundage, you may be able to get heavier than normal footed cedars.

Question: I noticed he also listed maple and hickory on his site.  Do you know if he offers these shafts as well or strictly cedar?

Bryan I'd be curious to hear your feedback if you decide to order some.  Appreciate it.

Thanks...CJ
