Thinking about playing with some Easton Axis arrows. Right now bow is set up with Gold Tip Hunter XT, not traditionals. They shoot great but also love Easton arrows.
Easton Axis 400 spine 31”
100 grain Easton insert
Ethics collars (will order aluminum and stainless)
125 or 150 grain head.
Bow is a Striker Classic 62” longbow 50# @ 28”. My draw is 28” for a longbow.
So who is shooting the Axis and your thoughts. I shoot them out of my wheeled bow with great results.

I love them but you might want to buy just one from Lancaster to try. I’m shouting a 340 set up similar for my 50-55# recurves.

I'm still whittling away my stash of Beman mfx 600s, but have a dozen axis (Easton dropped the mfxs whenn they bought Beman I was told). The mfx/axis arrows are my favorites. I'm tuning some new Easton carbon legacy in 700 right now to my new Toelke 10x Whip and I like them also.

The needing many shafts varying in spine is the tough part of archery. And being I love to tinker constantly makes things expensive quick. But I just love to tinker.

A local shop gave me one to try, it had been cut a little short, but not too short to try. I liked it enough to come back and buy the only two full length left in their shop, I’m still liking them. Then I decided to take the hit and order a half dozen to try more at a 3D shoot I was going to. Unfortunately they must be on backorder and the shoot is now over. But judging from the few I have I am a fan. Good weight per inch, nice finish (I ordered the traditionals), and I am hearing good things about toughness, haven’t stuck one in a tree yet to find out! :knothead:

Been shooting for a while now, no complaints. I did go to half out serts on them and that is working out well for me.

They are great shafts by all accounts. Too rich for my blood as I don't respect my arrows that much.. but what they heck.
Easton gives me a few doz every year of any shafts I want. I choose the axis, sell them in the store and shoot the beman center shots or the whiteouts just for kicks. .. and yes, many items of many brands is out of stock.. axis is one of those in some spines.

Been shooting Axis shafts for years. I believe what you have in mind should work well for you. If you weren't leaving the arrows long, I'd say they would be too stiff, but at 31 inches, with 250 grains plus up front, they should work fine.
