Title: Which glue?

Working on my ILF limbs. Got my forms made and my lams ground. Ready to glue up.

After I do the I initial glue up, I need to add a piece of 1/16" thick phenolic to the top and bottom of the pad area. Will be about 3 inches long and the width of the limb.

Should I use EA40 and some heat lamps to add those or would some gel CA work.

Should not be any flex here.

EA40 will be stronger and it sands out to a very smooth transition.

Thanks Roy! Hopefully will get a chance to make some limbs Saturday! Hopefully they will not come out extremely heavy either....

EA40 and you don't need heat lamps if your shop temp is 70F or higher...

I only used blue top Gorilla Brand Super Glue to glue on the top and bottom Phenolic overlays on my ILF limbs..I pre taper them so there is very little sanding, I wipe off any squeeze out after I apply spring clamps... But Smooth On would be a great choice. If you use Smooth On It would be best to not use high heat..As long as the room temp is over 70 degrees it will cure just fine in 24 hours..

You can use it smooth on with heat from your heat box ,if your heating device is in the top just lay it down on the bottom as long as the heat doesnt get much over what you originally heated the bow you will have no problems ive had bows in and out of the heat box as many as 4 times no problem .
  Super glue does not have the life span of epoxy you would be almost better off with 5 min. epoxy than super glue .
