Am continuously interested year after year in what bows will be new for me and for others. I always look forward with much anticipation
to a new experience and like to share in the anticipation of others.
I have a Black Widow Black & White Ebony PMA w/carbon limbs on order and is due to be delivered in February. The PMA model and the new BW carbon limbs will both be a new experience.
What 2022 new bow plans do others have?
-
....that should be a thing of beauty for sure!
Black Hunter longbow @ 35# here
-
Nothin wrong with a Black Hunter, shot a nice buck with my 40 lb. Black Hunter longbow this year.
I'm trying to decide between a Big Jim Thunder Child and a St. Patrick Lakes r/d Adventure
-
Years ago I had a G&L Mantis, sold it to a good friend who still has it!! The forms for that bow now belong to Droptine bows in North Georgia !! I think I want another, just in a lighter weight. We will see in the near future. Got some health issues right now !! Sierra Blanca has my interest also. Got a used one and it’s impressive !!
-
just received an AWESOME Northern Mist Sprague from Steve and plan to order a Ramer or a Shelton as well as a Monarch from Big Jim.
-
Looking forward to a new Java Man Elkheart!! I'm on the list and about 10 months out.
I already have 2 58" Elkhearts, after having tried many different bows they are the bow that fit me and allow me to shoot as well as I am able to.
As I age I have transitioned more & more each year from the trees to the ground, natural and fabric blinds. I've found myself wanting a slightly shorter bow in some situations and Mr. Coffey has announced the Elkeart Magnums. I'm looking forward to putting a 54 incher through it's paces in the near future...

-
Placed an order for a Caribow Taiga about a month ago and hoping it is done in time for 2022.
-
Don't have plans for a new bow, but maybe some new limbs. I've been real fond of a samick discovery riser the past few months with carbon/foam limbs. I may splurge for some fancy schmancy cross carbon limbs and see what all the fuss is about :) And I may build myself a new longbow.
-
I got on Gregg’s (Javaman) wait list at ETAR. Plan on having him build me an Impala Express takedown this year.
-
I plan to have Leon Stewart build me a RD longbow, i have slammer and a 3 piece and in my opinion, no one builds a better longbow.
-
I wish...
-
On the list for some lighter Primal Tech limbs. Gonna keep my eye out for a lighter (mid 40s) longbow as well. But no real big plans. I tend to be opportunistic though.
-
I’ve got a northern mist baranga on order
-
I have a 60" Omgea Tribute on order. Should see it about June.
-
Only thing I will be getting is a new riser for my Primal Tech longbow. Right now I have one riser with one set of recurve limbs and two sets of longbow limbs. It’s a PITA when I go to 3D shoots switching limbs around for different rounds, so I’m getting a new riser and will just have 2 complete bows that way.

I’m fortunate to have great friend that has been building bows for many years (Ken Bullman, Hunting Badger, here on tradgang). Ken got me back into traditional archery several years ago when he built me a takedown recurve. Since then he built me a sweet little longbow as well.
Right now he is almost done building me TD longbow. I hope to have it ready for the Texas javelina hunt in February. Ken uses KennyM’s bow designs. I’m blessed to have such a talented craftsman as my best friend…not to mention that he just keeps feeding my archery addiction.
-
I'm on the list for a new R/H Silvertip recurve.
Funny; but at my age I thought I would be paring down.
-
I am on the selling mode, then maybe I’ll buy some more.
-
I’m currently on Steve Turay’s (Northern Mist) build list and I can’t decide what I want. I do have it narrowed down to either a Classic, Shelton, Whisper or Ramer. I have previously owned a classic but have never shot or owned a reverse handle longbow and am so undecided. Help! Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks
-
No new bows this year I got two Yellowstone Longbows last year I would like one of Rich's Old Timers maybe next year when I retire.
-
None for me this year after 2 new Destiny longbows last year from Wild Horse Creek.
-
Just picked up a Kohanna Curve 64 in and 45 @28. Super smooth quietest recurve I've owned and pretty quick! Fit and finish are excellent.
-
I decided to revisit the ILF path. I picked up a Samick Discovery and TradTech recurve limbs for a good price. So far I'm happy with the rig.
-
A new ASL is the plan, now only need to decide which one.
-
I've got a little 56" one piece longbow on order from Herb Meland at Pronghorn Custom Bows. :)
-
SS Snuffer,
What weight arrows including head, are you useing please with your 40lb longbow.
-
I'll be rocking my Big River recurve, Big River D/R 21st Century clone longbow, along with some time with my MOAB and perhaps the St Jude - Kota "Badlands" Longbow. Also, have a Bear Grizzly 58" that needs some attention. Some many options!!! No new bow(s) on the horizon, but the tried and true will do.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
-
Placed an order for a Samick Discovery riser and their r1 limbs. Haven’t bought a new bow in several years so looking forward to it . It’s my first ILF , never thought I’d be interested in one. It’s going to be lighter than my other bows so maybe I’ll enjoy shooting it.
-
I have a Wild Horse Creek Destiny 2PC that should be completed in Feb. Ken
-
Toelke Whistler incoming........very very excited about this bow!!!!
-
Thinking about a Maddog Follower Extreme longbow. :)
-
I resisted the call of Carbon on a Widow as long as I could. Actually not very long. PTF with carbon limbs coming in a couple months....
-
Ordered my first new longbow from Leon Stewart back in September after shooting his bows at ETAR. He is such a genuine guy and quite the craftsman....I can't wait to start flinging.
-
I ordered a carbon Widow PAX a bit over a month ago. I expect it in June or July. It will be 58" and 42# at my 26" draw length.
-
I’m waiting on a new to me Kim Sha Mattawoman II. I have a Traditional Hill style of his that I really like and I’m looking forward to trying this model… :archer2:
-
A new Schafer Silvertip, 3pc longbow, 5 more months.
-
I like my Hoyt excel/tradtech ilf and really don’t plan on switching…
But hill country bows is not far from me, and am planning on Atleast stopping out this spring/summer to check them out after reading about them on here, so who knows haha
-
I’m on the waiting list for a new Primal Tech, but I’m not sure what I’m going to have him build yet.
-
Just got a Black Widow PTF in Kingwood 62". I won't bore you with what a fine shooter I think it is.
-
I’m on the list to have Tom Jenkins build me a Zipper Nitro.
-
I have a toelke classic whip coming in the coming months
-
Big Jim 2pc thunderchild b&w ebony should be here this week!
-
Michael, you're going to like that Whip. I picked one up from Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear, used but absolutely like new. I had never even had a Toelke in my hands, but boy is that a nice bow. I have a Timberhawk Odyssey Hunter TD longbow on order this year.
-
Thinking a PSR this year!
-
On the list for some lighter Primal Tech limbs. Gonna keep my eye out for a lighter (mid 40s) longbow as well. But no real big plans. I tend to be opportunistic though.
So I second guessed myself. I'm going to go ahead and justvgetva second riser built along with the limbs. I'm going to have my longbow limbs trimmed back a few pounds as well. But ii figure during 3D season I'll just have the 45@27 RC limbs on one riser and the LB limbs on the other and not have to swap out between rounds or when practicing.
Then during season I will always have a set up that's identical (except DW) in case a bad thing happens on a hunt.
-
I can't believe I dropped the string (our version of "pulled the trigger") on another bow, so early in 2022!
I was perusing another site and discovered a LH version of the bow I wanted as a young teenager more than 50 years ago. I couldn't afford it then. It was a Wing Thunderbird. The black phenolic/micarta? one.
I bought it for $215 from the fellow on the BIG auction site who is selling off about 240 bows after years of collecting. It is "only" 43# @28", so I'll be lucky to get 38 # out of it and my 26" draw. However, I figure a couple bows like this may keep me shooting if God wills me a few more years.
This one has some use issues in the finish. There was a beautiful one all gloss and pretty, pristine like the one 50 years ago. Alas, it was a RH bow. Another one I found in LH but it was 60# @28".
I'm going to be searching to see if I can get this bow prettied up a bit.
I won't have the bow until later in January, owner is out of town. To get ready for this, does anyone know someone who does this kind of work? Or is it easy enough to tackle DIY?
Thanks
-
Not brand new but new to me this year I bought a factory camo 1971 Bear Super Magnum (55#@28"). :archer2:
-
After a long wait, I have this coming to me! Caribow Taiga Ex brand spanking new from Abe! Can't wait until she arrives!
-
Purty for sure :o hope she shoots as well as she looks
-
Well…. ive got a 17” Bosen Horn riser with Bosen carbon foam limbs to make a 42# longbow coming as well as a 25” Sebastien Flute Barebow riser with 30# Akusta limbs to make a 68” bow. I’m pretty excited about them….
I shoot the same way Terry shoots, always have. And I have always done it withBlack Widows in the past, for the most part. After being really sick for the last few years, life has changed a little. I am getting ILF risers as I am now shooting 30-40#s trying to find my way again. I am pretty excited!
-
I have talked to Tim Finley about possibly getting a Jackrabbit longbow. We'll have to see how the year goes.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
-
I just bought a 2020 pristine Bear Montana...a really nice longbow that great reviews.
Bernie
-
I have had a love relationship with my Toelke Pika for sometime now, so much so that I just received my newest Pika which is a takedown. I have looked at Greg Coffee’s Elkhart, and also his helms deep, which is a recurve. Maybe someone that has or had both a pika and one of Greg’s bows can chime in on their thoughts of both bows. I think the grips are very similar.
-
Bernard, the Bear Montana looks great and I've never heard a bad thing about them, also based on the picture you provide, I understand why your working with it inside... hope you can get out soon and enjoy it.
-
Kirk @Bigfoot bows is building bow full time again!!
He just got some serious Macassar ebony. I couldn’t resist and order a Sasquatch hybrid LB made out of it. Now de 2-3 monthes wait begins.

That will be my 2022 custom bow after the incredibly accurate Sasquatch SS recurve he made me for 2021.
-
Turning 60 this year and ordered a 58 '' Toelke Chinook Happy Birthday to me.
-
Black Widow informed me yesterday that my PMA is approximately 3 weeks out from completion.
Anticipation is on the rise....
-
I have another new (to me) Bear TD riser in A length coming to me very soon. It will be a back-up to the 50th Anniversary riser I currently have, or, who knows, may compete for no. 1 position.
-
Orion....you are enjoying the beloved Bear traditiion.
-
a few weeks ago I bought a Northern mist Baraga.
53# 64"
A every nice bow. and man is a quiet bow.
I should draw both deer and elk this year and I can hardly wait for opening day.
-
Well last week was the best new bow week in history for me. It started out on Monday with the postman bringing a "new to me" excellent condition Wengerd Chamois longbow 64" 39#@28" Myrtle and Zircote. This bow is flawless and a true work of art.
Then on Friday I received my Toelke 10X Whip from Dan. 62" 42#@28". This bow has a micarta riser with cocobolo accents and exhibition grade cherry veneers. Month and quiet, just like all Toelkes. I'm not into collecting bows, so I'm good for quite awhile.
-
As long as wait times are I won’t see anything until 2023 and one that’s on order maybe 2024 at best. Good thing I have plenty of good bow already.
-
Well, I did pull the trigger on a Droptine Bows Mantis, should be started in June !! I hate waiting but I think it will be worth it !!
-
ron w...the Droptine I own is a beauty...
-
I'm in the middle of building one, same as my current but with a different recipe and will be painted camo per a bow I saw on here awhile back, will see which one gets to go hunting with me...
-
I just got a new Primal Tech longbow 42#@26” 62” amo :bigsmyl:
It’s a beautiful work of art! Black & White Ebony with Myrtle Burl. B&W Ebony veneers on the front of the bow, Myrtle Burl veneers on the belly with red resin filling in the knot holes!

“Bow” season for me begins as soon as deer season ends. Here are three that I just finished up and one in progress. All started since Christmas. Three are hickory staves cut from my woods last spring. One is from an Osage stave purchased at the Tennessee Classic. I’ve been experimenting with some dyes to get the color. “Silent Green” is simply Fiebings leather dye. “Scarlet O’Arrow” is colored with Keda Dye that comes as a powder and requires mixing. While I like the Fiebings for convenience (premixed and ready to go), I’m pleased with the results of either. I typically finish with Tru-Oil and if the bow becomes a hunter, I’ll over-spray with a satin poly. Honest Jon. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
-
I spoke with Leon a few weeks ago and ordered a 66” 55@31” RD longbow. It will have a cocobolo and Osage flared riser, spliced curly maple and yew veneers on the back of the bow, honey colored 4A curly maple veneers on the belly.
-
Other than stuff I am building I picked up a Ben Pearson 7388 Gamester in 55#. Should be here tomorrow according to the tracking. I keep looking at some of the higher end custom builders, but haven't gotten on any wait lists as of just yet...
-
Just got a pair of Uuhka Gobi’s and I’m waiting on a 17” Hoyt satori riser now :bigsmyl:
-
Couple weeks ago I got a Striker Classic Longbow in Cocobola from 3 Rivers. Great shooting bow. 50# @ 28”.
Hopefully by the end of the year I will have a Poison Dart on order.
-
Just got done building one , shot the last one five years so figured I needed another one... :goldtooth:

How many beauties can there be?
-
I will have to post pictures later. I got some classic bows in recently. A 1957 Kodiak that I sent to have some work done on. Also have an old Herters that will probably ship tomorrow. And then I am expecting to add another TallTines Stickflinger to the arsenal later. I did so good minimizing new bows in 2021. Not so much 2022.
-
just got tracking number my Black widow is on the way
PMA 64” 46@ 28.5 “ draw. carbon limbs Green G10 riser
-
I’m a furniture finisher/painter by trade so I usually strip and re-stain/re finish my bow every late winter a new color/finish, just like getting a new bow!
-
Just finished a warf bow on a proline riser and ordering a Hill Country Badger in b&W Ebony. 56" static recurve limbs @ 55 lbs.
-
That's a cool looking bow Kenny.
-
Corey that is some pretty wood.
-
On the list for some lighter Primal Tech limbs. Gonna keep my eye out for a lighter (mid 40s) longbow as well. But no real big plans. I tend to be opportunistic though.
Well they say the best made plans of mice and men . . .
-
A new Primaltech longbow around May-June time frame.
-
Just dropped the hammer on an older Howatt TD, that should be here soon. So now I finally have a TD.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:

Reverse handles are king. :shaka:
I LOVE the Sprague and the Ramer!
-
New to me, Howatt TD should be here Monday.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
-
Box with a bow was waiting for me when I got home. Got it partially put together, this Howatt TD definitely is not a Hatfield, or a MTD. This also is not a T/D version of the Hunter, slimmer than that. It is slim and light. I'll get some pics of limb, riser, bow unstrung and strung. Next to the MTD for a comparison. WOW!!! I'm impressed. With @60# at my draw I think this will be my old man bow.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
-
Got the new bow the other day shoots really nice
47 lbs at my draw. 508 gr arrow 176fps. seems like a good solid setup
Carbon limbs. do like a stiff arrow but seem quiet and the G10 riser coupled with it make a solid no vibration bow
-
Finally finished one for myself. I was reluctant to post it because I feel guilty working on something for myself when I’m so far behind. But this bow has been in the works for over a year. I’d work on it an hour or two every month or so. Finally got it completed.. You shouldn't feel guilty bud. You've had a truckload of stuff on your plate and still taking care of business. You're doing great and that's a beautiful bow. Congratulations.

Nice bows guys. That Widow looks hardcore and unique.
Saaaweeet looking Primal Tech.
-
Randy, you killed it on this one, as usual!
-
Randy, that's at the top of the list of beautiful bows I've seen. Wonderful work.

I wasn’t really looking for adding anymore bows to my “Stable” of bows but then this came along and I just received it yesterday afternoon. It was made year I was born 59 years old this year. Near new condition and a weight I can handle . It’s a Herters Match Hunter with caramel glass (not the usual mustard color) or tan as it was called.
A few pictures of it [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I received this in the mail this past Monday from Harvey Archery. It's a 60" Crowned Eagle that pulls 53#@28". The riser and back limb veneer are amboyna burl. The belly veneer is spalted bamboo and the limb core is bamboo. It has gemsbok horn overlays on the tips and back of the riser. Shoots very nice and quiet!
Darren

I have a Crowned Eagle on the way
50#, Amboyna Burl handle, spalted bamboo on the face,Amboyna Burl on the back,Cape Buffalo horn on the limb tips and back side of the grip

Pic of my bow

I believe one could gain weight with so much eye candy.
-
The new Black Widow PMA is scheduled for delivery tomorrow...Yeah!!!
-
Those are some nice choices. I'd like a new Big Jim Thunder Child. That seems like something to try.

-
I have a Stalker Coyote FXT on order. Bocote limbs, Cocobolo and Bocote riser. Seriously looking at a Striker right now.
-
Nothing on order at the moment, but have been enjoying this thread. :campfire:
-
Have been quite enamored with is new PMA with carbon limbs. Have owned a PCH and two PSAs.
This PMA is easily my personal pick. The Jenkins grip and the carbon limbs are, however, significant factors in my attraction. The carbon limbs are actually very quiet.
Others have frequently commented on its silent nature. I am shooting 9 gpp arrow.

Kirk @Bigfoot bows is building bow full time again!!

Work in progress there!
Close to the spray room now
-
Hybrid bow hunter very nice riser. How long is it?
-
Felix
17 inches long/62” bow
Despite I have a long draw length Kirk crafted the limbs in order to keep a reasonable string angle at 32” DL
Here on the tiller tree @ 32” DL
That s significantly better than what I used to get on most of 64” (and even 66” for some of them) hybrid bows
-
2 more months I will get my Silvertip. It has every option they offer. B&W ebony with Gaboon ebony flare. Retirement pressroom my dad before he passed away
-
Just got my Notification that my Toelke Whistler just shipped. :jumper:
-
Though I wasn't looking for another bow in 2022, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to own a new to me Northern Mist Shelton. It's fast becoming my favorite ASL. :dunno:
-
Nice hybrid!!!
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
-
It appears I’m going to take another swing at a Black Widow. This time a PSAX.
-
That a boy Gary! :bigsmyl:
-
It finally came out really nice ! Thank you Kirk
-
It came out very nice..
But I am already on the BW list.
-
I have a Treadway Black Swamp "Spook" bow I am waiting on. One of the woods I really love is ambrosia Maple with the worm holes and the figures that look like ghosts. We found the perfect piece that made nice bookmarked veneers with the ghost spooks and 2 worm holes side by side that look like eyes.
After I get that one, I do want one of Kirk's Sasquatch Takedowns with the full bridge back and hidden limb bolts.

I’m a happy camper! My BW PSA arrived. I have only shot it a few times at short range but I think I’m going to like it.
-
I just received my Timberhawk Odyssey Hunter longbow from Scott Mitchell and must say it is one of the finest customs I ever had and that's been a bunch.
-
Been waiting on a Dwyer Dauntless for some time now. Hopefully soon.
-
This is my third attempt at getting along with a Black Widow. The other two were good bows, but …
the MA was too big
The PCH was too small
The PSA is just right and good looking to boot.
I’ve always liked the iconic shape of a Black Widow.
-
The PSA is my preferred riser lenght👍
-
I have bought 3 bows in 2022, all 54". Big Jim Thunderchild, Wing Thunderbird, and RK Korte 59/60 replica.
-
That Korte looks lovely.Where did you get that one:)?Your on a 54 inch bow roll it looks like.
-
Some real sweethearts Congrats Gents.
-
That Korte looks lovely.Where did you get that one:)?Your on a 54 inch bow roll it looks like.
Scored that one from the original owner on the Stickbow classifieds. Been trying to get my hands on a Korte for a while now and just haven't found what I'm looking for or have been beaten to the punch. Not this time. Bow is simply outstanding from the craftsmanship to the woods and last but not least how it shoots. Was finished in December of this year so it is relatively new. Woods are an incredible piece of Hawaiian Koa for the main riser, Wenge in the I beam, and Macassar Ebony for the veneers. Also has curly bubinga for the overlays on the front. It is actually a hair shorter than my 56" Grizzly from the way I'm measuring and needs a 52" string. It's actually more like 55" IMO but Richard marked it 54" so that's what I'll call it.
54 is what I would call the "sweet spot" for me on a hunting bow. Need to try a Pika and a Shrew still before I decide what I like the best but that Thunderchild is my first choice off the rack for a hunting bow so far.

I'm looking at either a Twig Emerald or a Bear Grizzly.

New Bear Grizzly
-
Last years new model. I had to drop draw weight so I bought some lower weight bows. I hope I'm done now, I said that before I bought the Grizzly.
-
Hi Glen,
Good to hear from you. The wood is zebrawood in the riser
and Tiger Myrtle veneers on the limbs.
-
Some nice sticks being obtained by y'all. Keep em coming.

Wow Kirk! That is a beauty! What wood is the I Beam? Love that!

Well, I wasn’t planning on a new bow, but I’m the proud new owner of a Blacktail Colombian takedown longbow! 46@29 and 64” long.

That's a beaut. Hopefully you'll let me test drive her sometime.
-
Pics of new to me Howatt TD promised. The disassembled bow. Strung profile pic. Limb butts with numbers, there is nothing on the riser. All three DH Hunter, Howatt TD and Martin MTD. I don't think Howatt ever sold TD bows, but made then for sale by other vendors. Think this may have been an earlier prototype with #0030, and the way the one limb is shaved down.
-
Came to Baltimore hoping to offload some bows, but fell prey to Leon Stewart (again) with my second short Slammer. 56”, 48@28”. No pics yet. It is a sickness!
This is the fourth bow I have purchased from him. Excellent work, square dealer.

I am still waiting for a photo, Bryan.

I had a 60” Stewart recurve fall into my lap this weekend. Very pleased to complete my collection.

Great looking Widow! I love the way osage ages.
I expect my 58" PAX Carbon in the next month. I wanted to do it in the green G10, but Widow hasn't gotten around to offering that yet like they do the TD. Something to do with G10 not liking to be bent or curved? Bummer, I think the extra weight would have been solid!
-
Beemann your widow is stunning! Such a great looking combo

Here's my new one for this year. Northern Mist Classic. 68", 52# @ 29". All cherry, clear glass belly, brown glass back.

Beautiful Bear Take-Down...

Nice stick!

I've been shooting the same bow since 2018 so I decided it was time for a change. Built myself 3 this spring. I think the take down is my new goto bow, I seem to shoot it the best.

Great looking bows guys! I just bought a new to me Black Widow. It’s a PLX Camo TD and my first BW. Nice mass weight and speed for a longbow. Looking forward to getting it dialed in…

I like the cherry cores a lot. I like the whole bow a lot. First ASL, so I can't really compare to bamboo, but I think core wood choice matters a lot less than bowyer choice.
I was in Denver for the first time this past week and got a chance to see a lot of bows at RMS Gear; I don't know a lot of trad shooters shooting customs, so this was my first exposure to a wide variety of bows out there, particularly recurves. I own a Toelke and this Mist, and I have to say, both Steve's and Dan's bows are significantly better fit and finish than any of the bows I saw in RMS—in fact, I was severely underwhelmed by most of those bows. After getting a Mist and a Toelke, I think I would be extremely disappointed in most of those customs if I received one like them from a different bowyer. I've also got to handle Mike Treadway's bows a bit (he's a member of my club) and his are also a notch above those bows at RMS. I think I'm kind of ruined on top notch F&F now.

UGLY, you may be ugly but your new NM isn't!

After visiting Steve Turay in Ramer Alabama last year in July and a long wait, my brand new 68” Northern Mist Classic arrived today. Bolivian Rosewood riser. Tempered bamboo limb cores and cherry veneers with a slight dished grip 54# at 28”. (48 lbs at my draw length) What a beautiful bow and well worth the wait! A big shout out to Steve Turay for an outstanding bow! His customer service and attention to detail are second to none. Thank you Steve

Just received a Super Shrew II, 60" and pulls 44#@ 27" (according to my old Bear hand-held bow scale). It is the Siberian Tiger Shrew, black and white ebony. Spent a good bit of the afternoon tuning arrows and ended up with a500 spine Easton 6.5 and a 250-grain head for a total arrow weight of 500 grains. Gonna take it to a 3D on Sunday and give it a workout! Will post pics later on.
-
Will be looking forward to reading of the report of how the Siberian Tiger Shrew shoots and to see some pics.
-
Going with my new BIG D's bow this year. This is a hand crafted 58 inch bow 60@28 smooth and quiet, Will try to post pictures later.

I had a great conversation with Dan Toelke and he guided me into ordering a custom 56" Take Down Pika. Looking forward to seeing how this shortie will perform.
-
Let's see if I can post some pictures of my new Silvertip
-
Primal Tech 3 piece with recurve and longbow limbs. Recurve [email protected]" and longbow [email protected]". Myrtle burl.
-
I ordered a new Toelke Whistler at the end of March, it should arrive here next week.
-
Nothing planned but if I ever recover from my shoulder injury another Cari-bow Tuktu EX take down in the low 40's will be hard to resist. :campfire:
-
Just received a new omega royal huntsman 66”. [email protected]. Green glass with green mountain camo.
-
I have a Blacktail coming my way before the year end, went with a recurve but was tempted to go longbow.
-
A Lot of nice bows! Wasn’t expecting to get another one, but feller I know was wanting something else and I’d been wanting another one for years now. Made in ‘18 Black Widow PSA 2 no white or red phenolic. 60” 52@29 so about 54 at my draw. Been a while since I’ve had one over 50. I missed that! Lot more spunk.
-
New to me 1997 Bear Super Kodiak I had dipped old school Mossyoak Bottomland camo.
-
That looks good! Let us know how the finish holds up. Mine has some, well, love marks.
-
I'm new to the trad gang and saved up for a whistler then go hit with an unexpected expense. I know if I put it off again it's never going to happen, so ordered a Prairie Predator from Mike, 62" 48@29 1/2 with bocote and caramel brown glass.
I have some 300 spine carbons which are probably too stiff and some 400's that might work but I'd have to steal them from my kid. I'll have to figure out everything else I'm going to need and acquire over winter.
-
Michael,
what are he specs on that PLX? I have recently discovered that I like that model.

-

Like those laminates on that stalker.

In April I purchased 3 new to me longbows on the used market, locally from the same source. I'm a leftie, so that's a rare occurrence. I bought a Black Widow PL III 58# @ 28, a Harrison American Wolf 52# @ 28, and a Bighorn Custom Ramhunter 60# @ 28.
I sent the PL III back to Black Widow to reduce the draw weight by 3 to 4 lbs, re-tiller it, and have it refinished. It will come back to me as essentially a new custom bow.
